Performs overnight laboratory support tasks, including receiving, centrifuging, organizing, labeling, transporting, and inventorying blood specimens and components. Investigates specimen and paperwork issues, maintains laboratory supplies and equipment, monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures, prepares biohazard containers, and loads specimens onto automated systems under licensed personnel supervision.

Coordinates organization-wide talent recruitment by developing staffing strategies, monitoring recruiting data, managing job postings and advertising, maintaining applicant tracking systems, supporting hiring managers, improving workflows, managing recruiting expenditures, and coordinating career fairs and hiring initiatives. The role also reviews job descriptions, trains managers on recruiting tools, and partners with organizational leaders to advance staffing goals.

Oversee regional blood center and mobile collection operations, donor recruitment, inventory, purchasing, budgeting, staffing, and department performance. Set and monitor blood inventory and recruitment goals, implement corrective actions, supervise department leaders, oversee hiring, and represent LifeSouth within the community. The role requires effective management, reporting, communication, administrative, personnel, and blood banking software skills.

Supervise evening operations of an accredited immunohematology reference laboratory, manage staff (hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations), ensure regulatory compliance and quality, and resolve complex blood banking and compatibility issues to support safe patient transfusion.

First-line IT support handling calls and email, troubleshooting hardware and software, documenting and resolving tickets or escalating, updating users, maintaining knowledge base, monitoring queues, and participating in training to support on-site users in Dunwoody and Marietta.

Perform community outreach and donor recruitment for the cord blood bank. Train hospital staff, review donor paperwork, determine initial eligibility, ensure proper storage/shipping of collected units, maintain supplies, and build positive relationships with hospital partners and the public.

Process and document cord blood units, maintain donor/CBU records, perform QC and equipment maintenance (including liquid nitrogen storage), interface with collection staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and support training and quality activities in a cGMP lab environment.

Support Medical Technologists by processing and preparing specimens, performing basic and waived testing, DNA extractions, equipment maintenance, inventory management, temperature monitoring, and documentation to ensure quality laboratory operations. Schedule may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Manage end-to-end payroll activities: gather time and attendance data, enter and review pay batches and corrections, resolve employee payroll issues, generate payroll and timekeeping reports, support HR and accounts payable tasks, and maintain payroll records and processes.

Manage storage, inventory, preparation, documentation, and shipment of blood products per SOPs and regulatory standards. Inspect, quarantine, pack, and ship products, monitor temperatures and equipment, maintain accurate records, assist with deviations and customer issues, and provide high-quality customer service in a fast-paced blood bank environment.

Lead an AABB-accredited immunohematology reference laboratory, supervise and train technologists, ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance (CLIA, FDA, AABB, HIPAA), oversee quality assurance, manage corrective actions and reporting, and communicate technical results to clinical partners and hospital blood banks.

Obtain informed consent from expectant mothers for cord blood donation, educate families at bedside, complete and maintain accurate documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, oversee proper storage and shipment of cord blood units and supplies, and coordinate collection logistics and tracking to ensure timely completion prior to maternal discharge.

Manage data integrity and workflows for procurement, handling, storage, and shipment of cord blood and cellular therapy products. Maintain spreadsheets/databases, generate reports and communications, oversee inventory and logistics, and support internal and external customers.
