Electrical Engineering Intern assisting with power distribution equipment design. Responsibilities include creating electrical schematics, selecting components, integrating components into enclosures, and preparing BOMs, wiring worksheets, and production documentation. The role provides hands-on experience in engineering operations, project management, cross-functional collaboration, and research and development. Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and understand wiring schematics, AC/DC circuits, three-phase power, and control logic.

Assists customer project teams with mechanical design of power distribution equipment. Creates 3D models, sheet metal enclosures, technical drawings, flat patterns, BOMs, and assembly instructions using Solid Edge. Collaborates with production on design for manufacturing, cost reduction, and assembly optimization while maintaining CAD libraries and modeling standards. The internship provides hands-on exposure to engineering operations, project management, cross-functional teamwork, and research and development.

Own the full software lifecycle for embedded real-time power systems, including requirements, architecture, coding, testing, QA, maintenance, defect fixes, and product lifecycle management. Develop software involving embedded Linux, databases, web interfaces, networking, and hardware/software co-design. Collaborate with customers, conduct code reviews, improve development processes, and mentor junior engineers. Occasional customer-site work may be required for integration, acceptance, or consulting.

Designs, standardizes, and continuously improves manufacturing processes, assembly layouts, material flow, and production systems. Supports new product introduction, testing, validation, capacity planning, ERP integration, quality compliance, safety, and ergonomics. Leads lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, A3 problem solving, corrective actions, line balancing, and bottleneck reduction while providing daily shop-floor production support and collaborating with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering.

Supports warehouse and material flow operations within a manufacturing facility. Designs warehouse layouts, improves receiving-to-shipping workflows, develops kitting and replenishment processes, and optimizes storage capacity and material presentation. Applies Lean tools to reduce inefficiencies, improve accuracy and throughput, and maintain ERP/MRP inventory accuracy. Collaborates with logistics, production, planning, procurement, and quality teams while developing SOPs, training materials, labeling systems, and safe, ergonomic material handling practices.
