Processes and coordinates outside medical referrals within Utilization Management. Verifies eligibility, submits referrals for review, communicates approvals or denials to patients and providers, schedules services, codes referrals using ICD-10-CM and CPT, enters authorization data, assists with referral issues, and coordinates with insurance companies and primary care offices to ensure timely processing.

Coordinate HCC outreach by placing high-volume calls to schedule senior wellness exams, manage scheduling systems, perform clerical duties, maintain risk-adjustment records, handle non-clinical patient inquiries, and support departmental meetings and audits. Ensure timely appointment confirmations, chart creation, and accurate filing while demonstrating professionalism and customer service.

Prepare and enter monthly journal entries, assist month/quarter/year-end close, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, revenue entries, 1099s, and financial reports for CFO. Support budgets, capitation functions, special projects, and accounting system use.

Oversee day-to-day referral management and utilization review activities: gather medical records, verify eligibility/benefits, monitor clinical review timelines, communicate determinations, train staff, produce reports, monitor utilization patterns, ensure regulatory compliance (Medicare/Medicaid/managed care), provide phone coverage, and support process improvements and leadership as directed.

Provide direct patient care in a busy clinic: rooming/discharging patients, vitals, EKGs, medications/injections, blood draws, assist with procedures, patient education, maintain logs and supplies, perform home visits and evening/weekend clinics as needed.

Supervise and perform clinical laboratory testing (hematology, microbiology, chemistry, immunology), analyze and interpret results, maintain instruments and QC, manage specimens and supplies, document and report results, collaborate with clinicians, and follow safety and regulatory procedures to support patient care in an urgent care laboratory.

Provide direct patient care in a clinic setting as a CMA or LVN: room/discharge patients, take vitals, perform EKGs, injections, blood draws, assist with procedures, document charts, maintain exam rooms and logs, perform home visits and evening/weekend clinics, and float to other clinic areas as needed.
