The Sales Representative II develops customer relationships and solicits orders for refractory products. Responsibilities include customer visits, jobsite support, product selection and installation assistance, troubleshooting, quotations, order follow-up, inventory monitoring, collections support, forecasting, CRM reporting, sales presentations, and supplier relationship management. The role requires technical product knowledge, strong communication and analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and travel to customer accounts.

Conduct laboratory research and fundamental studies to develop improved refractory products, processes, and methods. Plan and evaluate plant and field trials, document findings, and provide technical knowledge across functions. Review patents, support patent applications, publish technical materials, and present at professional meetings. Propose innovative customer solutions and support ISO 9001 and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Supports plant and department managers with office administration, payroll and HR coordination, accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, sales orders, purchasing, inventory support, and monthly reporting. Maintains accurate records, supplies, and ERP data while addressing basic HR questions and coordinating with corporate teams.

Maintains and updates control systems across multiple manufacturing facilities, leads electrical process and capital projects, improves uptime and efficiency, and supports maintenance excellence. Develops electrical best practices, troubleshoots PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relay logic, and motor controls, mentors electrical staff, conducts root cause analysis, and documents process changes. The role also applies Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, manages change initiatives, and partners with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Provides on-site technical support for refractory installation, repair, relining, and maintenance of furnaces, ladles, and tundishes. Reads lining drawings, installs refractory materials, operates bricklaying and lifting equipment, performs inspections and preventive maintenance, monitors inventory, documents findings, supports customer teams, and promotes safety standards. The role requires extensive physical labor, frequent lifting, exposure to industrial hazards, and two to four years of refractory, construction, or manufacturing experience.

Analyzes and executes pricing strategies, administers pricing data in Oracle, evaluates price realization and profitability, and supports pricing actions across markets. The role collaborates with sales, marketing, and finance, prepares reports and presentations, analyzes competitive pricing data, manages quotes, and contributes to continuous process improvement. Requires a finance, marketing, business, or economics degree, advanced Excel skills, strong analytical abilities, and two to four years of pricing or business analytics experience.

Manages on-site steelmaking and refractory operations, customer relationships, technical resources, budgets, inventory, personnel, machinery, reporting, and refractory installation. Provides refractory expertise, analyzes operational data, supports customer satisfaction, and prevents premature refractory removal. The role also provides sales support for another account requiring monthly travel.

Supervises press department production activities, leading shift operations, team performance, quality control, safety, training, maintenance coordination, and KPI reporting. The role manages staffing-related approvals, coaches employees, resolves equipment issues with maintenance, and ensures production meets customer quality and delivery standards in a factory environment.

Conducts laboratory research, analyzes samples, evaluates raw materials, and develops recycled-material strategies. Supports plant processes through experimental evaluations, troubleshooting, work trials, modeling, and product formula modifications. Collects and optimizes production and quality data, prepares technical reports and presentations, and serves as a liaison between plant operations and the research group.

Leads the monolithic technology and specialty products team, directing refractory product development, materials technology research, product support, and technology roadmaps. Collaborates with product management, marketing, quality, manufacturing, procurement, and sales to align offerings with market needs. Oversees research initiatives, competitive technology analysis, raw material specifications, and technical libraries. Supervises and develops technical staff while prioritizing safety. Requires extensive refractory product development expertise, technical leadership, and approximately 35% domestic and international travel.

Rotational program for upcoming graduates to gain hands-on experience across engineering, manufacturing, plant operations, maintenance, quality, and continuous improvement. Participants complete projects, receive mentorship and leadership training, travel among U.S. manufacturing facilities, and collaborate with global teams. Successful participants transition into full-time plant leadership or plant engineering roles based on business needs and individual interests.

Provides expert technical support and product guidance for refractory products, analyzes customer application needs, and develops lining designs and installation methods. Supports product development, launches, promotions, market and portfolio analysis, and product rationalization. Delivers training and industry presentations while collaborating with R&D and cross-functional teams on complaint investigations, failure analysis, and market growth strategies.

Oversee overall plant operations, including safety, production, quality, costs, inventory, capital efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Lead the plant management team by assigning responsibilities, reviewing performance, providing training, and initiating corrective action when needed. Maintain quality systems and ensure adherence to refractory manufacturing standards, environmental regulations, Department of Labor requirements, ASTM standards, and ISO 9000 principles.

Provides technical support for refractory products, including application analysis, lining design, installation methods, quotations, training, complaint investigation, failure analysis, and customer solutions. Supports product marketing, sales, market and portfolio analysis, product rationalization, pricing, and industry trade shows. Collaborates with engineering, research and development, manufacturing, and commercial teams on product development and customer initiatives. Requires approximately 30–35% domestic travel, with occasional international travel.

Manages overall refractory plant operations, including safety, production, quality, costs, inventory, capital efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Directs plant management staff, assigns responsibilities, evaluates performance, provides training, oversees quality systems, and initiates corrective actions for cost or operational issues. Requires engineering or science education, substantial refractory industry management experience, knowledge of materials and standards, mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with office and accounting software.
