Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Microbiology responsible for teaching introductory microbiology courses and laboratories, developing an active student-engaged research program, and contributing through scholarly activity, service, and community engagement. The role includes a nine-contact-hour teaching load per semester and participation in inclusive, student-centered education within the Department of Biomedical Sciences.

Processes financial reports, prepares journal entries, maintains accounting records, manages department transfers and payroll adjustments, and supports general fund accounting. The role prepares financial reports, coordinates charge-back activities, corrects worktags, reconciles prepaid expenses, and provides bank desk support. It requires strong organization, communication, attention to detail, reconciliation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Builds relationships with schools, educators, families, and community partners to promote WGVU, PBS, PBS KIDS, NPR, and Michigan Learning Channel resources. Plans and delivers K-12 workshops, trainings, events, and professional learning. Supports curriculum integration, digital learning, family engagement, content creation, social media, newsletters, grant reporting, and education program coordination.

Part-time (up to 29 hrs/wk) adjunct supporting the Director of Finance & Grants with financial reporting, grant documentation, procurement and invoice processing, expenditure tracking, sub-recipient monitoring, audits, compliance, and monthly forecasting across multiple federal, state, and project funds and 10 regional offices.

Serve as primary authorizer liaison for an assigned portfolio of charter schools, advising boards and leaders, monitoring academic and organizational data, ensuring contract compliance, coordinating board appointments and trainings, and collaborating with internal and external partners to strengthen school performance and board effectiveness.
