Mentors engineers, supports recruiting, collaborates with laboratories and manufacturing partners, and influences global stakeholders. The role is based in Shanghai and requires up to 25% travel.

Provide independent quality assurance across utility-scale BESS projects in Europe, conducting inspections, audits, FATs, and ITPs; manage NCRs, RCA, CAPA; support supplier and contractor quality, monitor metrics, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with PM, engineering, construction, commissioning, and supply chain teams. Regular travel (~50%).

Manages the financial and commercial performance of a complex project portfolio across the Americas. Establishes engineering governance, standards, organizational strategy, budgets, and capability development while serving as the executive technical authority. Partners across product, hardware, software, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer success from product concept through end of life.

Lead the introduction and ramp-up of contract manufacturing sites and production capabilities for new product launches. Manage manufacturing readiness, process validation, equipment and tooling readiness, pilot builds, issue resolution, and CM relationships. Develop manufacturing documentation, support design-for-manufacturing reviews, coordinate prototype production and component packaging, track KPIs, and drive quality, cost, efficiency, and schedule objectives. The role requires frequent domestic and international travel to contract manufacturing locations.

Lead system architecture and product development for utility-scale BESS platforms. Integrate electrical, mechanical, controls, software, communications, cloud, and power-conversion systems; define requirements, interfaces, trade studies, and verification strategies; oversee testing, safety analysis, compliance, root-cause investigations, and product roadmaps. Mentor systems engineers and drive scalable, modular architectures across product lines.

Lead systems engineering for MW-scale battery storage products. Define product features and system requirements, assess safety and risks, conduct design trade-offs, establish product configurations and roadmaps, document designs and interfaces, and develop verification plans and system-level testing strategies. Collaborate with product management, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and laboratory personnel to deliver safe, reliable, high-performing, and cost-effective energy storage solutions.

Lead the Smart BESS and Data Platform portfolio, translating strategic energy-storage capabilities into product requirements, backlogs, epics, features, and user stories. Drive intelligent battery controls, lifecycle optimization, operational analytics, fleet intelligence, telemetry, data platforms, and machine-learning enablement. Collaborate with product, controls, data, software, services, and customer teams to prioritize roadmaps, facilitate technical discovery, define scalable cloud architectures, and communicate complex concepts to executives and customers.

Lead HRIS efforts leveraging Workday to translate HR requirements into system solutions. Design, build, test, and maintain Workday business processes, support releases, ensure data integrity through audits, troubleshoot HRIS issues, and train end users while partnering with HR teams to improve processes and reporting.

Supports sales engagements by developing technical tools, resolving customer and contract requirements, influencing product roadmaps, and ensuring engineered designs comply with local codes and energy regulations. Partners with sales and cross-functional teams to close opportunities, address technical deviations, and support client projects across EMEA. Requires strong technical problem-solving, communication, coordination, and knowledge of power, renewable energy, or battery energy storage systems.

Supports strategic decision-making through business case development, financial modeling, scenario and ROI analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and profitability evaluation. Partners with FP&A and functional leaders to translate business needs into financial frameworks, develop dashboards and KPIs, improve reporting, and identify performance opportunities. Prepares executive presentations and helps standardize analytical and financial evaluation processes.

Leads controls engineering for Fluence’s operational battery energy storage portfolio across EMEA. Serves as the controls subject matter expert, resolves complex controls and integration issues, leads root-cause analysis, manages software and firmware upgrades, supports grid-code compliance testing, and drives reliability improvements. The role also maintains technical documentation, analyzes operational data, coordinates stakeholders, and supports customers, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams.

Manage project claims across EMEA, with a focus on Germany, by analyzing facts and documentation, developing assertion or defense strategies, and advising on commercial and legal outcomes. Assess delays, risks, and project impacts; prepare recommendations; establish claims-management processes; and collaborate with project management, procurement, quality, commercial, and legal teams. The role also trains colleagues, supports claim prevention, and explores AI-driven improvements.

Guide cross-functional architecture decisions, design workshops, delivery teams, global stakeholders, and external partners. Define integration across SAP modules and connected systems, support roadmap development, promote fit-to-standard adoption, and establish scalable governance and solution patterns for complex multi-entity, multi-plant, intercompany, and external manufacturing environments.
