The Chief Operating Officer provides executive leadership for organization-wide operations, Indigenous Justice Centre service delivery, implementation, workforce planning, financial oversight, risk management, compliance, and organizational culture. Reporting to the Justice Council and CEO, the role translates strategic priorities into accountable action, supports operational leaders, strengthens internal controls and capacity, oversees budgets and resources, and promotes culturally safe, trauma-informed services aligned with the BC First Nations Justice Strategy.

Oversees daily financial operations, leads finance staff, coordinates budgeting, prepares financial reports, monitors performance, supports accounting and payroll-related activities, and contributes to financial planning, policy review, organizational initiatives, and management decision-making.

Supports international students, host families, schools, and partners across the Red Deer region. Responsibilities include relationship management, cultural guidance, orientations, host training, recordkeeping, community building, crisis response, school meetings, custodianship of minors, and local travel. The role requires strong communication, judgment, organization, customer service, public speaking, confidentiality, and independent work.

Administers and coordinates a national grants program, including applications, communications, compliance tracking, grant disbursements, reporting, evaluations, timelines, committees, and stakeholder relationships. The role collaborates with program, finance, development, vendors, consultants, food banks, and provincial associations; delivers webinars and presentations; supports program improvement; and manages donor and grantee reporting. This is a full-time remote position based anywhere in Canada, with occasional evening and weekend work.

Coordinates corporate partnership development by researching and qualifying prospects, supporting lead generation, creating presentations and pitch materials, tracking partnerships in CRM systems, assisting with partner onboarding and relationship management, and contributing to cause marketing campaigns. The role supports funding and in-kind partnerships, collaborates with leadership and cross-functional teams, and helps develop donor and partner pipelines. It is fully remote across Canada with occasional travel and evening or weekend work.

The Executive Director leads CEBC’s strategy, government relations, advocacy, public policy, Indigenous partnerships, membership engagement, communications, and sector leadership. They serve as chief spokesperson, build relationships with government, regulators, BC Hydro, Indigenous governments, and industry, and translate member priorities into policy positions. The role also oversees a remote team, board reporting, budgets, financial controls, revenue growth, sponsorships, and partnerships. Regular travel across British Columbia is required.

Lead the Lands Department to manage land use, protect treaty rights, negotiate agreements with governments and industry, oversee environmental conservation, manage contracts and funding, represent the community on resource committees, and provide legal and policy guidance to leadership.
