The intern will analyze accident and injury patterns, research OSHA and MSHA standards, accompany consultants on job-site visits, and assist with PowerPoint presentations. The role requires at least 60 completed college credit hours and active enrollment in a relevant degree program.

Conducts occupational safety and loss prevention surveys, evaluates policyholder workplaces and safety programs, analyzes loss trends, performs basic industrial hygiene testing, and recommends corrective actions. Prepares risk assessment reports for underwriting, researches applicable laws and standards, trains policyholders, and supports safety program improvement across property and casualty coverages. The role serves complex accounts, collaborates with underwriters and regulatory agencies, and may mentor safety trainees.

Evaluates commercial insurance risks, determines acceptability, coverage, pricing, and profitability, and manages assigned middle-market accounts. Analyzes exposures using company, NCCI, ISO, and industry guidelines; communicates underwriting decisions and negotiates terms with agents; supports renewals, new business growth, policy issuance, and account strategies. Builds agency relationships, provides underwriting guidance, resolves issues, monitors agent profitability, and mentors entry-level underwriters.

Supports and leads complex internal audit engagements across business operations, governance, compliance, and technology platforms. Responsibilities include planning audits, assessing risks and controls, reviewing work, reporting findings, developing action plans, using data analytics and visualization for testing, and advising business and risk partners. The role also contributes to continuous auditing, innovation, and enterprise initiatives while managing multiple engagements.

Leads actuarial modernization as an internal center of excellence, researching methods and platforms, developing and implementing models, tools, templates, and governance practices. Provides consulting and enablement across pricing, reserving, analytics, data, and modeling while maintaining actuarial standards and documentation. The role requires deep Property and Casualty expertise, technical capability, change leadership, and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions.

Manage commercial insurance agency relationships across Western Pennsylvania, driving profitable multi-line growth, new business production, agency engagement, and sales objectives. Develop agency plans, conduct visits and webinars, provide product and underwriting training, analyze performance, resolve issues, gather competitive intelligence, and lead service meetings. Mentor Territory Managers and serve as a subject matter expert. Overnight travel is required.

The Data Steward monitors and resolves issues with accounting and insurance policy systems, ensuring data quality and compliance with statutory principles. Responsibilities include reconciliations, reporting, and assisting in month-end closes.

Serve as liaison between business and IT to gather and document requirements, translate needs into functional specifications, support SDLC and QA testing, validate incidents and propose workarounds, and assist project managers on small projects. Act as SME for at least one product discipline (e.g., claims), execute test cases, and support production issue resolution.

Support financial reporting, reconciliations, cash management, and expense administration. Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries; perform account reconciliations; administer and audit employee expense reports (Concur); run and modify reports from financial systems; assist with month-end close, audit PBC items, and process improvements to maintain controls and accuracy.

Define and execute agency automation strategy for P&C independent agencies. Own roadmap, lead integrations (downloads, raters, APIs, AMS), manage vendor relationships, drive onboarding and adoption, monitor KPIs, troubleshoot interfaces, and support book rolls and conversions to improve submission flow and agency ease-of-doing-business.
