Serve as the clinical microbiology technical authority for a national VA public health program. Provide expert consultation on molecular and automated microbiology testing, perform method validations, ensure compliance with accreditation and policy, troubleshoot complex tests and instrumentation, author SOPs, and collaborate with clinicians, epidemiologists, laboratorians, and communicators to support outbreak response and patient care. Onsite in Northern California, with occasional regional travel.

Lead investigational communications for a VA public health program: develop communication plans, manage media relations, write/edit materials across print and digital formats, draft briefing materials and talking points, and produce reports and presentations. Tailor high-stakes messaging for diverse audiences and collaborate with clinicians, epidemiologists, lab scientists, and data analysts to support outbreak response and patient notification efforts.

Support public health investigations for a VA program: manage and evaluate procedures, perform electronic and paper medical chart reviews, conduct staff interviews, document findings, and assist epidemiologists and attorneys in outbreak and patient-safety reviews.

Design, develop, and maintain databases and applications that support VA public health surveillance. Serve as liaison to epidemiologists, ensure systems meet VA security/configuration standards, oversee complex IT work, and support data access, storage, and security for outbreak response and patient lookbacks.

Draft, review, and edit FDA compliance documentation (warning letters, import alerts, guidance, meeting materials). Collaborate with FDA program offices, legal counsel, and SMEs to ensure technical accuracy, regulatory alignment, confidentiality, and adherence to federal and FDA style requirements.

Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams for VA public health investigations, managing schedules, budgets, staffing, deliverables, and federal reporting. Ensure timely outbreak response, patient lookback/notification efforts, and collaboration with clinicians, epidemiologists, lab staff, analysts, and communications. Onsite Northern California role with occasional regional travel and adherence to VA contract/deliverable requirements.

Lead end-to-end capture and business development for high-priority federal opportunities (NIH, VA and others). Develop capture strategies, coordinate proposal teams, manage win themes, build customer relationships, and leverage market intelligence and AI/ML/NLP tools to win large, complex contracts. Mentor team members and contribute to corporate growth and marketing initiatives.

Develop Oracle APEX applications, maintain systems, conduct testing, provide documentation, mentor other developers, and address complex business challenges.

Lead architecture, development, and implementation of SharePoint Online and Power Platform solutions. Analyze current sites/apps, design As-Is/To-Be solutions, improve automation and UX, document technical lifecycle artifacts, support testing/UAT, resolve help-desk issues, and coordinate releases and status reporting while ensuring compliance with governance and Microsoft 365 best practices in a GCC environment.
