Provide daily care and enrichment to dogs in a rehoming centre, follow health & safety and Dogs Trust practice, educate potential owners and the public about dog care, and deliver excellent customer service to visitors while supporting the centre team.

Manage the rehoming process by providing excellent customer service, matching dogs to adopters, arranging introductions and occasional home visits. Maintain dog status across kennels, foster and home stays, promote dogs with online profiles and images, support complex cases with Behaviour and Welfare teams, complete adoption paperwork, welcome visitors, and assist with kennel care.

Manage a caseload of legacy gifts, liaise with executors/solicitors, review estate accounts (CGT/IHT), represent the charity in legacy correspondence, maintain records in First Class 4, support reporting and escalate complex matters to senior legal staff.

Deliver an assigned portfolio of high-value supporter events end-to-end, including planning, venue and supplier management, content and collateral creation, on-the-day delivery and evaluation. Coordinate cross-organisational event project groups and liaise with senior stakeholders (CEO, Directors, Trustees, UHNW supporters, ambassadors) to ensure events support cultivation and stewardship objectives.

Supervise and support Dog Welfare Assistants to ensure daily exercise, training, enrichment, and clean kennels. Coordinate kennel block operations, training and inductions, conduct monthly supervisions, uphold care procedures, and occasionally act as site supervisor. Drive high standards of dog welfare and support staff wellbeing.

Recruit, assess, place and support volunteer foster carers; conduct intake assessments; arrange veterinary and behaviour support; deliver training; promote dogs for adoption and complete adoption paperwork.

Assess and design behaviour rehabilitation programmes for dogs, implement and monitor training plans, support colleagues and adopters through rehoming, and keep detailed progress records to improve each dog’s chances of successful adoption.

Part-time retail Supervisor (13.5 hrs/week) leading and motivating volunteers, maintaining store presentation and merchandising, managing budgets, driving sales through commercial decision-making, and representing Dogs Trust while working Sundays and one weekday.

Manage legacy giving products (gifts in wills, In Memoriam, Canine Care Card), coordinate external agencies and internal teams, deliver supporter stewardship and events, communicate brand impact sensitively, and monitor and improve supporter journeys and campaign outcomes.

Lead operational oversight and delivery of flagship, bespoke and stewardship events for high-value supporters. Develop event concepts, audiences, messaging and calls to action; line-manage a High Value Events Officer; coordinate with Philanthropy, Corporate and Trusts; contribute to long-term high-value events strategy to drive sustainable income and supporter engagement.

Provide centre administrative support including invoicing, banking, donation records, budgeting support, staff rota and training records, stock ordering, contractor liaison, maintenance and permit support, IT issue logging, customer-facing updates, audit support, and occasional reception or dog-welfare duties.
