Manage the university's annual operating budget, develop revenue and expense estimates, prepare analyses for leadership, provide guidance and training to department budget officers, and develop/implement budgetary policies, procedures, and internal processes.

Provide grant and research administration support: identify funding, prepare and submit proposals, ensure compliance with institutional and government regulations (Uniform Guidance, FAR), monitor grant-funded projects, develop and deliver training, and assist the Associate Vice Provost of Research with regulatory documentation and grant management.

Review and enter payroll source documents, process adjustments (overtime, incentives, docks), manage pre-tax deductions, prepare payroll-related payment vouchers, review tax reports and submissions via Paycom, reconcile deduction liabilities, assist audits, and coordinate with third-party administrators to ensure payroll compliance.

Tenure-track faculty will teach western music history sequence, world music, and general education courses (Music Appreciation, Black Music, Jazz History); develop and teach online courses; maintain research/creative agenda; engage in recruitment, committee service, grantsmanship, and promote DEI and technology-enhanced teaching.

Develops, implements, and evaluates financial literacy programs; manages scholarship portfolio and awards; advises students and parents on financial aid, FAFSA, repayment, and eligibility; conducts workshops and outreach; maintains scholarship database and ensures compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.

Lead accounting and financial reporting including General Ledger, grant accounting, bursar/student accounts, reconciliations, and month/year-end close. Prepare financial statements and reports, support external audits, ensure GAAP/FASB and federal grant compliance, supervise and mentor staff, and collaborate with campus departments to improve processes and policies.

Serve as strategic HR partner and operational leader, overseeing talent acquisition, management, performance, development, employee relations, policy, classification, compensation, compliance, HRIS/ERP, and large-scale projects. Ensure continuity of HR operations in VP/CHRO absence while improving HR frameworks, service delivery, and team effectiveness across the campus.

Lead and oversee university accounting functions (GL, AP, Payroll, Grants, Bursar), ensure GAAP compliance, manage audits, prepare financial reports and budgets, administer Jenzabar finance modules, supervise staff, and drive process improvements and automation.

Lead development and management of a university-wide institutional effectiveness program, support assessment and accreditation (SACSCOC), consult with academic and administrative units, coordinate QEP and program review, drive quality improvement initiatives, and represent the university on external boards.

Manage bi-weekly and monthly payroll using Paycom; reconcile payroll GL in Jenzabar; prepare journal entries; ensure payroll tax compliance; resolve discrepancies; support audits and reporting; develop payroll policies and reports.

Manage and supervise daily financial aid operations, oversee state and institutional aid programs, award and verify aid, counsel students, coordinate audits, develop training and presentations, and ensure regulatory compliance and customer service.

Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor to teach undergraduate psychology courses, develop specialized courses (forensic, substance use, rehabilitation), mentor students, maintain active research with student collaboration, seek external funding, contribute to program growth and service, and pursue online and interdisciplinary teaching opportunities.

Lead development and execution of Claflin University's marketing and communications strategy. Oversee digital presence, content creation, team leadership, budget management, performance analysis, accessibility compliance, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communication to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

Teach undergraduate courses in broadcast journalism, studio and sports production, and multimedia news/sports production. Supervise production projects and facilities, mentor students, engage in research and service, and support mass communications curriculum and accreditation efforts.

Provide clerical and administrative support for a university project: maintain participant files and records, generate reports, track budgets and inventory, handle reception and payroll tasks, supervise work-study students, and execute follow-up procedures for student tracking.
