The Budget Officer reports to the Vice President for Fiscal Affairs and is responsible managing all aspects of the universitys budget to include direct
communication, coordination, preparation, and implementation of the annual operating budget including developing revenue and expense estimates. He/she will provide guidance, technical support, and training to all university department budget officers. The Budget Officer will participate in developing, implementing, documenting, and communicating budgetary policies and procedures with university-wide application. He/she will be responsible for developing and maintaining internal operating policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines. The Budget Officer will prepare analyses for use by administrators and senior leadership to make academic and budgetary plans for the university and performs all others duties assigned by the Vice President and other members of management.
A bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance. The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, tenkey and other office equipment; and effective oral, written and interpersonal skills are essential. Knowledge of Jenzabar is preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience with budget preparation and management. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively both written and orally across all functional areas. He/she must be able to provide direction and guidance to constituents and work with minimum supervision.
