Freelance on-call producer/writer supporting city teams: produce and edit podcasts (using Descript), pitch and write daily newsletters, prep hosts, produce episode ads, and create social content as needed for assignments lasting one week to three months.

The editor will manage a team of reporters, edit stories, refine pitches, oversee accuracy, and support cross-platform storytelling, while developing reporters' skills.

Lead subscriber acquisition and lifecycle strategy for City Cast DC: define subscription tiers and user journeys, build onboarding/retention/winback communications, partner with editorial and membership teams on campaigns, write conversion-focused copy, track subscription metrics (conversion, churn, LTV), analyze data to drive recommendations, and operationalize growth initiatives across email, web, social and podcast channels.
