Lead the shipyard subcontracting function: develop outsourcing strategy, negotiate complex subcontracts, manage subcontract portfolio financials, lead and develop a team, ensure compliance, drive supplier development and continuous improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support program delivery.

Provide technical engineering support for ship repair, conversion, and refit projects: develop conceptual designs, 3D models, P&IDs, calculations (statics, dynamics, stability), drawings, repair and lifting plans, BOMs, and technical documentation; liaise with operations, production, QA, and supply chain; support inspections, failure investigations, continuous improvement, and safe execution across shipyard and vessel environments.

Lead and deliver complex enterprise finance and IT projects from initiation through close. Manage Oracle EPM/ERP implementations, hybrid-Agile and Waterfall delivery, stakeholder communications, risk mitigation, budgeting, team mentoring, cross-functional coordination, and project documentation to ensure successful outcomes and benefit realization.

Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts and weekly labour reports; perform variance and cost analyses; support ad hoc modeling and strategic cost management projects; collaborate with divisions to develop financial and operational metrics; recommend process improvements and support decision-making.

Provide administrative, procurement, contract and financial support to the Business Technology Services (BTS) department. Manage IT licensing renewals, purchase orders, contract filing, CAPEX/OPEX budgets, KPI reporting, SharePoint maintenance, training coordination, and process improvements to support service delivery and governance for a ~100-person IT team.

Lead functional ownership and continuous improvement of the Oracle ERP platform. Act as primary liaison between business and technical teams, manage demand and prioritization, oversee delivery of enhancements, integrations, governance, testing, documentation, and production support. Drive root-cause analysis, scalability, user adoption, training, and compliance while mentoring the Oracle team and coordinating vendors and cross-functional partners.

Lead and implement continuous improvement projects across operations, engineering, supply chain and planning. Perform root cause analysis, apply lean and DFSS methods, mentor colleagues, quantify savings, implement industry best practices, and sustain improvement systems to improve safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.

Lead and improve estimating and resource planning for new construction shipbuilding projects. Produce labour, material, and overhead estimates; forecast medium- and long-term resources; align plans with schedules and capacity; support bids, contract changes, and program execution; maintain estimating databases and metrics; deliver reports and dashboards; identify savings opportunities; and mentor a cross-functional team.

Develop and maintain detailed production schedules and integrated master schedules for submarine repair/overhaul. Create P6 templates, resource profiles, SOPs and metrics; produce EVMS and status reports; provide quality control of planner outputs; forecast resources and coordinate with procurement, engineering and production to manage schedule performance and variances.

Maintain Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) databases and dashboards for new-build vessels; coordinate OQE submissions to Customer and Class; support progressive acceptance, defects closure, certificate mapping, and project close-out; track sign-offs, rectify non-acceptance issues, and assist scheduling and KPI implementation. Provide guidance to junior specialists and support Excel, Co-Console, and Aras issues.

Coordinate scheduling, allocation and utilization of mobile equipment (cranes, forklifts, vehicles) to support shipyard production. Manage equipment readiness, inspections, supplier relationships, budgets, cost tracking, utilization analysis, and preventative maintenance. Communicate daily plans and resolve equipment conflicts to minimize downtime and support program schedules. Maintain logs/systems and attend production meetings; support invoice approvals as required.

Supervise weekend day-shift trades crews in a shipyard, ensuring safe, on-schedule production that meets quality and environmental standards. Assign and monitor work, manage timekeeping, discipline and performance, coordinate materials and schedules with management, and enforce collective agreement, safety and quality procedures. Maintain crew training, certifications and efficient work practices.

Lead design, coordination, and delivery of leadership, safety, and workforce development programs for trades supervisors. Partner with operations, HR, safety, unions, and vendors to identify skills gaps, improve onboarding, manage training budgets, and measure program effectiveness to boost productivity, safety, and capability across Victoria Shipyards.

Serve as functional analyst for Oracle EPM (FCCS/EPBCS) and Oracle Financials: maintain functional specs, support month-/year-end processes, administer security, execute testing and integrations, triage sustainment tickets, run requirements/gap analysis, and partner with finance and consultants to improve processes and controls.

Apprentice metal fabricators/shipfitters assist in layout, cutting, shaping, fitting and temporary fastening of steel plate and structural components for shipbuilding. Work includes marking, aligning, tack welding, operating shop machinery, preparing templates, installing accessories, and following blueprints while adhering to safety and Seaspan standards. Role supports apprenticeship schooling toward Red Seal certification.

Lead and develop a data engineering and integrations team to design, build, and operate a secure, scalable Azure cloud data platform. Own architecture, CI/CD, pipelines, data products, governance, and stakeholder delivery while managing risks, priorities, and performance metrics.

Support Quality during vessel construction by entering, maintaining, validating, and reporting quality data across Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, Aras, Co-Console, and IFS. Maintain dashboards, trackers, inspection records, and metrics; compile recurring and ad-hoc reports; support defect tracking and documentation control; coordinate with stakeholders and assist continuous improvement of data management processes.

Lead engineering and technical delivery for marine outfitting systems, ensuring designs meet safety, customer, class, and regulatory standards. Provide technical authority, review and approve designs, perform inspections, prepare calculation packages, set maturity targets, mentor engineers, and coordinate with suppliers and contractors to resolve complex integration and manufacturing issues.

Lead corporate and indirect tax functions including preparing tax returns and provisions, SR&ED claims, deferred tax calculations, tax forecasting and planning, compliance with federal/provincial/foreign authorities, tax accounting controls, systems integration, audit coordination, and advising senior management on tax strategies.

Serve as strategic HR advisor to operations in a unionized manufacturing environment. Lead labour relations, performance management, investigations, attendance management, change initiatives, and coordinate with HR Centres of Excellence to align people strategies with operational goals.
