Own end-to-end data science initiatives across growth, personalization, pricing, market execution, risk, financial integrity, and financial crime. Build causal inference, predictive, ranking, and fraud detection models; deploy and monitor them in production; communicate uncertainty and insights to senior stakeholders; and mentor teammates on statistical and modeling best practices.

Owns risk management for Bitvavo’s Cyprus-regulated entity, including enterprise risk governance, financial and non-financial risk, credit, market, liquidity, capital, stress testing, operational resilience, outsourcing, incident management, and Board reporting. The role requires leadership of the risk function, oversight of ICARA and prudential reporting, and expertise in regulated broker, exchange, clearing, capital markets, and crypto environments.

Build and operate a self-service data platform supporting databases, messaging, ingestion, processing, and consumption at scale. Develop secure, compliant, and scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automation. Evolve support for structured and semi-structured data, stream processing, and governance. Work with distributed messaging systems, including Kafka and Flink, while mentoring teammates and partnering directly with stakeholders to drive engineering excellence.

Lead Bitvavo's end-to-end tax function: manage Dutch and cross-border corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing, WBSO and innovation box positions; advise on international expansion, product structuring, compliance (Pillar Two, DAC6/DAC8), liaise with Belastingdienst, and build an in-house tax team and control framework.

Lead timely monthly, quarterly and annual closes, consolidate group entities, prepare financial statements, support IFRS conversion, coordinate external audits, improve accounting controls, and set up reporting for crypto regulation compliance.

Design, build, and enable scalable, low-latency, highly available platform capabilities. Collaborate with engineering teams to automate infrastructure, provide observability, and deliver reproducible environments using IaC and container orchestration. Mentor peers and drive platform ownership and reliability.

Design, build and maintain a self-service data platform to enable teams to create data products. Support real-time analytics, batch processing and ML workloads. Implement secure, scalable, compliant infrastructure with IaC and automation. Enable ingestion, processing and consumption of data at scale. Mentor teammates and drive engineering excellence.
