Build full-stack experiences using frontend frameworks, APIs, relational databases, and SQL while maintaining performance, security, and quality. Owns and evolves the brand design system, sets creative standards, directs major initiatives, and refines high-priority work. Manages and develops a team of designers, partners with marketing, sales, copy, operations, agencies, and vendors, presents creative decisions to senior leadership, and participates in hiring and team growth.

Leads People Operations and Total Rewards, including compensation, equity, benefits, payroll, HR systems, compliance, and people data infrastructure. Partners with executive leadership and Finance on strategy, budgeting, workforce planning, and incentive programs. Oversees vendors, payroll accuracy, benefits administration, HRIS operations, onboarding, offboarding, and scalable processes. Requires strong expertise in employment regulations, systems implementation, data accuracy, and operational excellence in a high-growth environment.

Build and operate security detection and response capabilities across infrastructure. Responsibilities include developing SIEM alerts and integrations, administering detection tools, participating in security on-call rotations, automating triage workflows, supporting incident investigation and containment, and improving response playbooks. The role also focuses on detecting AI-related risks, increasing visibility into AI tool usage, reviewing telemetry needs for new systems, and collaborating with engineering and governance teams.

Lead Betterment’s Analytics Engineering team by setting its vision, roadmap, and operating model; hiring and developing engineers; and guiding reliable data products at scale. Partner with Analytics, Data Platform, Product Engineering, Finance, Marketing, CRM, and Revenue Operations. Oversee dbt models, Airflow pipelines, data quality, documentation, monitoring, deployment, data contracts, and prioritization across business needs and technical health.

Design end-to-end advisor and client dashboard experiences, including core financial workflows and AI-powered features. Conduct research, usability testing, and data analysis to guide decisions; create interactive prototypes; collaborate with product, engineering, and stakeholders; contribute to accessible design systems; and own projects from inception through launch.

Owner of customer risk rating, KYC, and fraud monitoring models. Design and monitor fraud rules, analyze model performance, and partner with Data, Engineering, Compliance, and Product to reduce fraud while minimizing customer friction. Build dashboards, reporting, and lead cross-functional projects and vendor assessments.

Lead and grow a full-stack engineering team building integrations, APIs, datasets, background processes, reports, visualizations, and MCP access for financial advisors. Set technical direction, manage roadmaps, collaborate with product and cross-functional stakeholders, mentor engineers, contribute hands-on when needed, promote engineering excellence, and hire and develop high-performing team members.

Own and optimize Betterment’s paid acquisition portfolio across SEM, affiliate, programmatic, display, and mobile app channels. Manage campaign strategy, app store optimization, paid app campaigns, partner negotiations, budgets, creative testing, and performance measurement against funded accounts, CPA, and ROAS goals. Collaborate with creative, compliance, product marketing, insights, accounting, agencies, and external media partners to scale efficient customer acquisition.

Generate and qualify outbound sales opportunities for Betterment’s retirement and advisor solutions. Responsibilities include prospect list building, cold calling, email and LinkedIn outreach, understanding prospect needs, communicating qualified opportunities to Account Executives, meeting pipeline targets, using Salesforce and prospecting tools, and providing market feedback to marketing and product teams.

Leads security governance, risk, and compliance programs, including risk assessments, control design, vulnerability management, third-party risk, business continuity, and issues management. Measures and communicates risk, authors policies and reporting, challenges stakeholders, supports audit and regulatory readiness, mentors analysts, and advises leadership on risk acceptance and treatment.

Own the roadmap for Betterment’s marketing enablement products, including promotions, offers, messaging, analytics, internal marketing tooling, and the public website platform. Partner with Marketing, Engineering, Design, Analytics, Finance, and Compliance to create reusable capabilities, design regulated offer mechanics, improve campaign measurement, enable self-service workflows, and lead products from discovery through launch and iteration.

Owns the public-facing marketing website platform, including governance, publishing standards, navigation, templates, integrations, landing pages, SEO, accessibility, compliance readiness, and CRO experimentation. The role partners with Creative, Marketing, Engineering, Growth, Analytics, Product, and Compliance to prioritize work, improve site performance, and build scalable reusable components. It also includes people management, mentorship, capacity planning, and development of operating processes.

Plan, execute, and optimize demand generation campaigns (paid media, email nurture, digital, events) to drive qualified pipeline for 401(k) sales. Manage agency relationships, media performance, budgets, audience targeting/ABM, and lead nurture. Partner with RevOps on lead routing/scoring, track MQL and pipeline metrics, collaborate cross-functionally, and maintain social proof through case studies and reviews.

Build and operate Betterment’s shared GraphQL API frameworks, authentication and authorization systems, internal tooling, and secure MCP access. Partner with product, operations, support, compliance, and engineering teams to deliver reliable platform capabilities in a regulated financial environment. Contribute to observability, testing, incident response, safe rollouts, AI-agent API access, and developer experience while mentoring junior engineers and influencing technical direction.

Lead and grow a senior engineering team responsible for Betterment’s shared GraphQL API, authentication, authorization, and internal tooling platforms. Set technical strategy, govern security and permission models, improve reliability and developer experience, support AI-enabled API workflows, and partner with engineering, product, IT, security, operations, compliance, and customer support teams.

Build and scale backend trading and money-movement systems for a financial services platform. Design software components, optimize distributed systems, maintain stability and security, and support regulatory risk checks. Collaborate across engineering teams, lead projects, balance delivery with quality, and mentor other engineers.

Own Betterment at Work’s channel partnerships, including sourcing, contracting, onboarding, enablement, co-selling, referrals, pipeline generation, forecasting, and partner growth. Develop joint go-to-market plans, coordinate cross-functional execution, manage partner activity in Salesforce, report results to leadership, and use market feedback to improve messaging, enablement, positioning, and channel strategy.
