Lead BeReal’s Japan creative strategy and paid marketing production. Manage a team of creative producers and influencer coordinators, prioritize user acquisition initiatives, analyze performance and KPIs, develop creative concepts, benchmark competitors, share global best practices, and lead experiments involving new tools and AI processes. The role requires mobile app performance marketing, influencer management, project leadership, and fluent English.

Create mobile video ads tailored to Japanese audiences, adapt global creative concepts, and develop locally relevant ideas based on trends and performance insights. Benchmark competitors, experiment with platform-native formats, use AI in creative production, and collaborate with global and local creative teams. The role requires strong video editing, After Effects expertise, Japanese fluency, professional English, and at least two years of relevant experience.

Drives full-cycle talent acquisition for BeReal’s Consumer Apps teams, recruiting across technology, product, sales, and marketing. Partners with hiring managers on role development, sourcing, interviewing, and closing strategies; builds passive-talent pipelines and referral relationships; ensures a positive candidate experience and employer brand; and improves recruiting processes and metrics.

Lead the technical direction and evolution of BeReal’s iOS platform, designing scalable, reliable systems and high-impact features. Collaborate across product, design, data, backend, and Android teams; improve architecture, performance, tooling, testing, and development processes. Mentor engineers, lead complex technical initiatives, and use analytics and user feedback to guide decisions while remaining hands-on with Swift, SwiftUI, and Swift Concurrency development.

Build and scale backend services to handle massive, time-bound traffic spikes. Design robust distributed architectures, develop high-volume Go microservices, collaborate with product and engineering teams, analyze trade-offs, and participate in code and design reviews to ship features quickly.

Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and architectures for BeReal. Own projects end-to-end, contribute code to production, collaborate with backend, data science, product and marketing, and advocate best practices in data engineering.

Build and optimize high-performance iOS camera and video features. Improve AVFoundation capture pipelines, real-time image/video processing, multi-camera flows, encoding, sync, and device-specific performance (CPU/GPU/memory/battery). Collaborate with cross-functional teams and raise media performance and reliability standards.

Lead BeReal's engineering org (~80 engineers, 12 squads) across iOS, Android, and backend. Ensure stability at daily spike scale, improve squad velocity without regressions, manage infrastructure costs (GCP/Spanner/media delivery), complete Node.js-to-Go migration, hire and develop top engineering talent, and set technical strategy with the CEO and product leadership.

Lead SRE practices and reliability efforts: design and optimize cloud infrastructure (GCP), automate workflows (Terraform/Terragrunt, Kubernetes), improve observability (Datadog, tracing), manage incidents and postmortems, partner with squads on performance and cost optimization, and contribute to architecture and FinOps initiatives.

Build and optimize iOS monetization features (ads, sponsored content, premium offerings). Collaborate with design, product, data, backend, and adOps teams. Ensure performance, stability, and native, non-intrusive experiences. Analyze A/B tests and metrics, maintain code quality, and evolve the iOS tech stack (Swift, SwiftUI).

Build and optimize high-performance iOS camera and video features using AVFoundation and low-level Apple media APIs. Improve capture quality, latency, stability, multi-camera flows, encoding, synchronization, and resource usage. Profile and debug device-specific behaviors, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and raise media performance and reliability standards in the codebase.

Lead and scale BeReals global user growth by building a growth strategy, running paid and organic acquisition channels, partnering with product and cross-functional teams, analyzing channel performance, and managing a growth team and partnerships to drive user acquisition and engagement.

Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines; own projects end-to-end from scoping to production; collaborate with backend, data science, product and marketing; champion data engineering best practices and support analytics at scale.

Lead BeReal’s data function: build scalable data infrastructure, enable product analytics, run and interpret A/B tests, ship production data-science/AI projects, and manage a team of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and Data Analysts to deliver actionable insights.

Lead the iOS technical vision and architecture for BeReal, deliver complex features end-to-end, mentor engineers, drive code quality and engineering standards, collaborate cross-functionally, and use data and feedback to improve product and performance at scale.

Lead cross-functional product initiatives for a B2C mobile app, using analytics and user research to ideate, prototype, ship, and scale features. Define roadmaps, own key metrics, contribute to strategy, and collaborate closely with engineers and designers.

Drive digital ad sales by sourcing, pitching, negotiating, closing, and managing advertising deals with brands and agencies. Build awareness through presentations, conferences, and networking.
