Product + Tech

Employees at Atlassian are consistently driven by growth — both for the user experiences they strive to perfect and for their own careers. Guiding that growth? Five values infused into the culture that leaders like Jensen Bouzi embody every day. “Some of the Atlassian values that resonate with me the most are ‘play as a team,’ ‘be the change you seek,’ and ‘build with heart and balance,’” the senior frontend engineer said. “Each day I try to incorporate them into my work.” This approach has empowered employees to not only align their future career goals with Atlassian’s mission, but enhance the abilities of what their tech can do while powering products like Jira, Confluence and Trello.

Employee Reviews

Jensen Bouzi

What excited me most about joining Atlassian was the culture and prospect of working on products that I’ve used for years at other companies.

Jensen Bouzi, Senior Frontend Engineer & Tech Lead

Jensen Bouzi was a frequent user of Atlassian’s technology before joining the company. Now, as part of the Confluence Better Together team, he’s using it more than ever to expand Atlassian’s flexible reach through the very same parent products and third-party apps he used to rely on — giving him unique insight as a mentor and lead. “We extensively use our own products to manage our work: We’re simultaneously the creators and users,” Bouzi said. “This gives us a much more intimate understanding of the pain points our users face, enabling teams around the world to do their best work.”

Tygrr DosRemedios

Through my Secondment, I was able to experience the full scope of what a product manager does and realize if it’s a good fit — it has been one of the most challenging, rewarding and exciting roles I’ve experienced yet.

Tygrr DosRemedios, Product Manager

After almost three years at Atlassian working in product integration, Tygrr DosRemedios recently joined the Beacon product team to help launch the collaboration security product from the ground up. “I had been wanting to break into product management, but it’s not always an easy process,” she said. However, thanks to the company’s Secondment development program, she was able to seamlessly grow into the role after a year-long trial period and full support from leadership. “I think the Secondment opportunity at Atlassian is what truly sets this company apart from the competition.”

Ashleigh Christopher

Atlassian is a great company to both build innovative products, like our automated frontend release tool, and level up your career all at once, thanks to our clearly outlined career development hub.

Ashleigh Christopher, Frontend Engineer – Confluence Content Experience

When Ashleigh Christopher isn’t busy improving experiences for Confluence content end users or expediting clean code to production teams, she’s more than likely learning a new skill — an opportunity she attributes to the company’s value of “be the change you seek.” “I had no experience with writing integration tests prior to joining the team, but I was provided the autonomy to learn best practices and implement them,” Christopher said. “Not only was I encouraged to grow, but also document and share my learning process with the larger team to expand our knowledge base!”
