Develop GPU-accelerated global and local MHD simulations, calibrate models against observations, prepare datasets for machine learning, couple dynamo models with stellar corona and wind models, analyze large-scale simulations, publish findings, release research data and code, and contribute to departmental teaching.

Conduct research developing and benchmarking porous cellulose-based heterogeneous catalysts for organic synthesis. Investigate relationships between preparation methods, material properties, and catalytic activity using mechanochemical and low-solvent approaches. Apply advanced characterization techniques including NMR, X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy. Perform laboratory experiments, analyze data, communicate findings internationally, and contribute to departmental teaching and student instruction.

Leads a two-year curriculum development project for the Department of Film; coordinates degree reform, timetables, joint courses, curriculum planning, room bookings, and annual teaching and research processes. Develops agile, user-friendly, data-driven workflows, supports faculty, improves staff and student experiences, facilitates collaboration, and reports to department management.

Conduct doctoral research on numerical modeling of sea-ice pile-ups against coastlines and coastal structures. Develop discrete element method code with time-dependent cohesive bonding, model ice accumulation across engineering and regional scales, and identify ice and weather conditions driving coastal risks. Publish research, present at conferences, participate in group activities, and assist with master’s student advising while collaborating with Aalto University and the Finnish Meteorological Institute.

Develop biology-informed probabilistic machine learning methods for dynamical systems as part of a PhD thesis. The work will combine mechanistic ordinary differential equation models with Gaussian processes, Bayesian inference, uncertainty quantification, heterogeneous biological trajectories, partial observability, and interpretable mechanistic discovery. The researcher will work across computational systems biology and artificial intelligence research groups, with opportunities to explore foundation models and biomedical applications.

Conduct a five-month master's thesis investigating electrochemical oxidation of cellulose dissolved in alkaline media. Responsibilities include developing dissolution methods, testing dissolved cellulose on model electrocatalysts, characterizing solutions, analyzing experimental results, presenting findings, and contributing to reports or a scientific article. The role requires master's enrollment in Chemical Engineering, strong English communication, collaboration, and preferably experience in experimental electrochemistry or biomass processing.

Lead and conduct high-quality accounting research, teach two courses and a Bachelor's/Master's thesis seminar, supervise students, apply for external research funding, participate in university administration, and engage in international cooperation and societal interaction. Lead experimental research to reach the quantum regime of optomechanics with exciton-polaritons using GaAs/AlAs microcavities.
