Money, Money, Money: Built In's 35 Highest Paying Tech Companies in 2019

Cool offices and creative perks are great, but the bottom line is still pretty sweet.
August 2, 2019
Written by Sam Daley

Flashy offices. Unique job titles. Creative perks. Great benefits. Tech companies have gone above and beyond to attract top talent, but one incentive still remains king: cold, hard cash. Sipping unlimited cold brew with your company’s "digital prophet" (a real position at Verizon) is a nice-to-have extra perk, but receiving an above average salary is not just expected, but often required to live comfortably in many of the nation's largest tech hubs. Speaking of tech hubs, Silicon Valley isn't the only spot for highly-paid tech talent these days. There are now hundreds of companies across the country that offer best-in-class pay on top of their comprehensive benefits.

In fact, countrywide tech-related salaries are 92% higher than the median national wage, with software developers, network architects and cybersecurity analysts leading the way in both job popularity and pay.

Every year Built In compiles a list of the 50 best paying tech companies in the nation's other tech hubs of Austin, Boston, Chicago, Colorado, Los Angeles, New York and Seattle. Our rankings are determined by an algorithm that calculates the median percentile of all compensation data submitted by employees of each company via our database. This list breaks down the top five best paying companies per market. Please note that some companies rank in the top five for multiple markets, so we have only included them once for the city where they rank highest and have made mention of the other markets where they dominate the salary game. Additionally, by no means is this a definitive list since some companies who may pay very well have not submitted salaries to our database. Nevertheless, we hope it will be a great starting point for your research.

Without further ado, here are Built In’s 35 highest paying tech companies to work for in 2019.
