TransUnion, one of the major credit-reporting companies, has a heavy emphasis on data science, as it bases its reports on reams of data from credit reports all over the world. In addition to credit reports, TransUnion offers credit advice and resources such as mortgage calculators. Transunion has offices in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad. It is based in Chicago.

 

Oracle, founded in 1977, is one of the world’s biggest data science and tech companies. Its products include Java and Linux, and services include the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Cloud Applications. Oracle has offices in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Gurugram, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune. Oracle is based in Austin, Texas. 

 

Valued at about $2 billion, Mu Sigma is one of the top analytics companies in the world. Working with some of the largest businesses across the healthcare, banking and hospitality industries, it helps its customers clean their data, create predictive models and more efficiently manage their operations. The company has been recognized by several prominent companies, including as a supplier of the year by Walmart and a preferred partner by Microsoft, according to its website. Headquartered in Illinois, Mu Sigma has several offices around the world, with Bangalore serving as its primary delivery hub. 

 

Tiger Analytics is a California-based analytics and AI consulting firm, helping businesses all over the world make better use of their data. Partnering with major cloud providers including Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services, the company provides businesses with data insights regarding specifics like social media reach, customer analytics and revenue management so that they can get a more complete picture of their data and identify opportunities for growth. Tiger Analytics currently has about 4,000 employees in India at its offices in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. In 2023, it opened an office in Patna, reportedly making it the first American tech company to establish a location in the state of Bihar.

 

Formerly known as TheMathCompany, MathCo builds custom data products for various Fortune 500 and Global 2000 enterprises. Its proprietary platform, NucliOS, is equipped with generative AI capabilities, machine learning widgets, visual templates and a chatbot to help businesses utilize their data more efficiently. The Bangalore-based company currently has a team of more than 1,100 employees.

 

Cloudera describes itself as a “hybrid” data company that encompasses software, machine learning, data engineering and data analytics. Products include its Cloudera Enterprise Data Hub, which it says can help companies manage data in the cloud and on company premises. Tech and telecommunications are among the many industries it serves. Cloudera has an office in Chennai.

Quantiphi is a data science company that focuses on AI, data and cloud applications. Dociphi, one of its products, processes documents using artificial intelligence. According to Quantiphi’s website, the company is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for hosting the biggest generative AI hackathon. It has offices in Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru and is based in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

 

IBM, based in Armonk, New York, creates, develops and markets an array of data science tools, not least among them Watson, its platform that is focused on data analytics and AI. IBM offers continuing education for data scientists, for instance its Data Science Professional Certificate. IBM has offices in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad and other cities in India.

 

Fractal provides data services to companies working in the consumer packaged goods, healthcare, insurance, life sciences, technology, retail and financial sectors. With products ranging from an investment advisor to a cybersecurity threat detector, it essentially turns massive amounts of text, image and speech data into structured analysis. It also works with businesses to build tailored AI solutions. The company has a workforce of more than 4,000 employees across 16 global offices, five of which are located throughout India. Its main headquarters are in New York and Mumbai.

 

Specializing in everything from predictive modeling to web analytics, LatentView Analytics aims to provide companies with a 360-degree view of their business, enabling them to forecast new revenue streams, anticipate product trends and optimize investment decisions. It also has a couple of generative AI tools — one to help customers create personalized marketing content, and another to easily mine insights from text documents like contracts and customer reviews. The company is headquartered in Chennai and has another large office in Bangalore.
