Job Description

The Investments team helps asset owners across the world solve their investment problems. We offer a range of services across different delivery models, spanning advisory services, outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO), Total Funds Solutions (TFS), Specialist Portfolio Solutions (SPS) and analytics & tools to give investors access to best-in-class ideas and the opportunity to meet their long-term investment goals.

As Head of Growth, US, you will help drive the success of our investment business by working with NA leadership to execute our US go-to-market approach across delivery models, connecting client demand with our intellectual capital and help increase the penetration of sources into the US corporate pension plan market. You will assess the market need and ensure we have the right services and solutions to solve clients' problems and will oversee distribution activity across multiple teams within the US. Your role will be to deliver profitable, sustainable growth in the US, growing relationships with existing investment and HWC clients, and growing efficiently, with a strong eye for process and efficiency.

The role will require collaboration across various stakeholders across the business, including the Head of North America, Head of Clients, US and client teams, and WTW-wide sales and client management teams (including Retirement) to ensure we're bringing the best of WTW to existing clients across the Health, Wealth and Career (HWC) segment.

You will be leading a motivated and aligned team of industry-leading commercial talent. You will report to the Head of North America (NA) and become a member of the US/Executive Committee.

Client Focus:

  • Execute an integrated go-to market strategy which spans our services and solutions, working with leaders to refine it, while listening to the needs of clients and identifying opportunities in the market to input into new ideas
  • Build strong and sustainable relationships with relevant market influencers and client teams
  • Maintain a keen understanding of the competitive dynamics for our services and solutions
  • Drive and maintain a culture of business development discipline which will drive a sustainable pipeline
  • Be a key part of live pursuit processes, partnering with internal colleagues to coach and mentor the pursuit team.

Teamwork:

  • Build a motivated, aligned and engaged team behind a clear growth strategy with a clear eye for coordinating and aligning growth colleagues, organizing pitch activity, coaching and training as required
  • Develop a culture of mentorship and talent development which supports colleagues on their career journeys
  • Championing efforts to promote an equitable, inclusive culture that supports & develops more diverse workforce
  • As a member of the US Executive Committee, be a senior resource for the Investments business and key relationship contact for the broader firm, building strong relationships with client and cross-functional teams
  • Manage and drive change appropriately and communicate with transparency

Excellence:

  • Be a key input into our brand and collateral strategy in conjunction with content and marketing teams
  • Measure activity and effectiveness levels of the team developing and overseeing key growth metrics
  • Ensure that prospect meetings and pitches are properly rehearsed, maximizing our win rates
  • Providing input into the appropriateness and relevance of our solution set for the US market, ensuring a feedback loop between the client/distribution team and the content engine, driving solution development change where appropriate and inputting in new product strategy
  • Develop sufficient subject matter expertise across our solutions to lead prospect meetings, including finalist pitches, to generate interest in our solution and close sales

Financial:

  • Deliver on sales goals
  • Lead an approach that will build a sustainable, multi-year, pipeline that supports business diversification goals
  • Work with Client function to make effective pricing decisions
  • Conduct: To put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of the way you work

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience preferably including business and/or growth leadership at an Investment business
    • Experience in developing and running an effective and efficient sales process across a range of clients and service models (advisory, OCIO, etc.)
    • Corporate pension industry is a plus as well as knowledge of DB and DC pension plans
  • Broad business development and leadership skills including:
    • Collaboration, presentation/pitching skills, client/colleague empathy and adaptability
    • Able to frame and confront issues and make tough decisions.
    • Exemplary communicator, equally proficient at communicating strategy and execution
  • People and culture focus:
    • An authentic people leader who cares deeply about helping colleagues succeed in their careers
    • Keen focus / track record in driving behavioral change to help us achieve our DEI objectives

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the

role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role.

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $250,000 - $300,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
