Lead the design, delivery, and operation of foundational platform services used across Adyen. Build and maintain tooling and infrastructure for distributed data stores (Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis, ClickHouse). Design partitioning, clustering, and sharding strategies, optimize performance, ensure high availability, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in on-call rotations.

Lead a cross-functional engineering team building accurate, reliable, scalable, and auditable regulatory reporting products. Responsibilities include setting technical direction, managing stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Product, prioritizing roadmaps, mentoring and hiring engineers, operating large-scale data pipelines, reducing manual reporting effort, and driving automation and RegTech innovation while meeting strict regulatory deadlines.

Lead a cross-functional engineering team building scalable customer data and reporting platforms for global merchants. Responsibilities include people management, hiring, mentorship, architectural guidance, experimentation, reconciliation experiences, software reliability, testing, monitoring, technical debt reduction, project estimation, and stakeholder alignment. Partner with Product and Design to deliver intuitive, trustworthy merchant-facing workflows and translate complex technical capabilities into clear business outcomes.

Design, build, and maintain shared Java frameworks and components used across Adyen. Lead large-scale application architecture migrations, guide engineering teams, improve development workflows, and collaborate with platform teams on Kubernetes, deployment, and security integration. Establish engineering best practices through validation rules, workshops, and presentations. The role requires strong Java backend development, API design, testing, technical influence, stakeholder alignment, and ownership.

Build Adyen’s knowledge platform by designing AWS serverless ingestion pipelines, graph schemas and ontologies, optimized Neo4j queries, and APIs for developer and AI-agent knowledge retrieval. Transform content from Git and headless CMS sources into structured, queryable knowledge, implement validation and quality controls, collaborate across engineering and writing teams, and mentor engineers through reviews and technical leadership.

Guide global merchants through end-to-end payment integration projects, designing scalable API-based solutions from solution design to launch. Serve as a technical partner, explain complex topics clearly, resolve integration challenges, and collaborate with Sales, Account Management, Product, and Engineering. The role requires strong API and web technology foundations, technical curiosity, ownership, communication skills, and comfort working collaboratively in an office-first Milan environment.
