Leads DigitalOcean’s security and core platform services portfolio, including security products, security engineering, identity, billing, secrets management, and observability. Owns strategy, roadmap, business outcomes, operational excellence, compliance, and executive reporting. Builds and scales product and engineering organizations, manages investment trade-offs, defines performance metrics, supports incident escalation, and partners cross-functionally to deliver secure, reliable, customer-focused cloud capabilities.

Define the long-term architecture and technical strategy for DigitalOcean’s audit logging, security visibility, SIEM integrations, and high-throughput event pipelines. Design systems processing billions of events daily with guaranteed delivery, ordering, and multi-region resilience. Establish logging standards and event taxonomies, guide cross-organizational decisions involving IAM and threat detection, mentor senior engineers, and communicate platform strategy and compliance impact to leadership.

Lead secure design reviews, threat modeling, and security risk assessments for products and features. Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to develop secure architectures, provide remediation guidance, promote security culture through training and mentoring, oversee vulnerability management, and explain security events. Build security tooling, automate secure development practices, and establish architectural patterns and processes that reduce security risk across DigitalOcean’s engineering organization.

Lead and evolve the insider threat program by engineering detection, automating investigation workflows, tuning UEBA/SIEM/DLP/UAM/SOAR detection content, conducting threat hunting and DFIR, collaborating with HR/Legal, and using data analytics (e.g., Pandas) to investigate anomalous activity and reduce internal risk.

Assess product and application architectures, develop threat models, identify security risks, and guide engineering teams on remediation. Promote security culture through training, mentoring, vulnerability management, and internal security initiatives. Build security tooling, automation, patterns, and workflows that embed secure-by-design practices across engineering. Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to secure complex, large-scale cloud systems.

Lead DigitalOcean’s AI security strategy, governance framework, threat modeling, and multi-year roadmap. Partner with security, engineering, and data science teams to secure AI products, deploy guardrails, conduct adversarial testing and red teaming, and monitor AI/ML systems. Provide architectural reviews, executive risk briefings, and guidance on emerging threats including prompt injection, model supply-chain risks, agentic AI, and data exfiltration.

Lead DigitalOcean’s AI security strategy, governance framework, roadmap, and organizational programs. Build and operationalize AI/ML security controls, tooling, guardrails, and automation; conduct threat modeling, adversarial testing, and AI red teaming. Review AI architectures, guide high-risk product decisions, monitor deployed models, and address risks involving RAG, agents, model supply chains, and prompt injection. Represent AI security to executives and external communities while translating emerging research and threats into engineering guidance and policy.
