The YouTube Thumbnail Designer creates visually engaging and clickable images (thumbnails) that represent digital content, primarily videos, to attract viewers and increase click-through rates. He/She works with content creators and marketing teams to ensure thumbnails align with content, brand identity, and drive engagement. The YouTube Thumbnail Designer has strong graphic design skills, an understanding of visual storytelling, and proficiency in design software.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and iterate thumbnail graphics that significantly improve CTR and viewer retention
- Work closely with editors, producers, and marketing leads to align thumbnails with video content and strategy
- Run A/B test concepts and adapt designs based on performance data and audience feedback
- Maintain a library of templates and brand assets across all Valuetainment properties
- Strategically choose imagery, facial expressions, color, and typography to maximize impact
- Propose visual campaigns around trends, launches, or new series to improve overall brand consistency
- Stay ahead of visual trends in digital content, YouTube, and viral design
- Prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Work closely with the Valuetainment brand team to ensure on-brand execution across all content
- 3+ years of experience designing YouTube thumbnails or social media graphics with proven performance results is required
- Deep knowledge of YouTube’s content ecosystem and how thumbnails impact CTR and growth
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is required
- Must possess a strong understanding of composition, typography, retouching, and lighting for dynamic thumbnails
- Experience with integrating AI image Generation Software into existing Photoshop, Illustrator workflow is required
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Must have a growth mindset, be coachable, and a relentless drive to improve performance
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred
- Must possess a strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Must have excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects
- Must have strong communication and collaboration skills
- Must be a proactive, creative problem solver with a passion for design and branding
- Must have familiarity with UX/UI principles for digital content
Compensation, Comprehensive Benefits Package. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills.
