Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Xceptor ETL Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translating these into technical specifications, and implementing data pipelines using the Xceptor platform. This role requires a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL methodologies, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data processes.
Responsibilities
- ETL Development: Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain efficient and reliable ETL processes using the Xceptor platform for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements, source systems, and data transformation rules.
- Technical Design: Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications and ETL design documents.
- Data Quality & Governance: Implement data quality checks and validation rules within ETL processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Adhere to data governance policies and standards.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in existing ETL processes and optimize Xceptor configurations for improved efficiency.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide ongoing support for ETL jobs, troubleshoot data loading issues, and resolve production incidents in a timely manner.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all ETL processes, data flows, and technical designs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data architects, data modelers, and business intelligence teams to ensure seamless data integration and reporting.
- Testing: Develop and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance test plans for ETL solutions.
- Mentorship: Potentially mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on Xceptor best practices.
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven 5+ yrs of experience as an ETL Developer with hands-on experience using the Xceptor platform.
- Xceptor ETL developer certification
- Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing principles, and data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with various relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with data integration from diverse sources (databases, flat files, APIs).
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify data quality issues.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience with other ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, DataStage, SSIS) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google Cloud Dataflow).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data manipulation and automation.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
