ISS International SpA Qatar Branch is looking for a Workshop Safety Officer for a Fertilizer Project in Qatar - Mesaieed.
Educational Qualification:
NEBOCSH Diploma with valid NEBOSH ( IGC) Certificate or Diploma in industrial
safety engineering from recognized institute/University.
Proficiency in English language (Read, write & speak).
Proficiency in Computer skill.
Experience:
10 to 15 years’ experience in Electrical, welding, instrument & machine shop safety
(Machine safety) in GCC within Fertilizer / Petrochemical or manufacturing sectors companies.
Key Technical Expertise:
Machine Guarding: Ensuring all equipment has appropriate physical barriers
(fixed, interlocked, or adjustable) to prevent contact with moving parts.
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO): Managing the energy isolation procedures required during
maintenance or repair of heavy machinery to prevent accidental startup.
Point-of-Operation Safety: Knowledge of specific hazards related to cutting,
shearing, or shaping materials.
PPE Management: Oversight of specialized protective gear like impact-resistant
eye protection and ensuring workers avoid loose clothing or jewelry that could snag
in rotating parts.
Skills Required
- NEBOSH Diploma with valid NEBOSH IGC Certificate, or a Diploma in Industrial Safety Engineering from a recognized institute or university
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking
- Proficiency in computer skills
- 10 to 15 years of experience in electrical, welding, instrument, and machine shop safety
- Experience in machine safety within GCC fertilizer, petrochemical, or manufacturing companies
- Knowledge of machine guarding, including fixed, interlocked, and adjustable barriers
- Experience managing Lockout/Tagout procedures for heavy machinery
- Knowledge of point-of-operation hazards involving cutting, shearing, and shaping equipment
- Experience overseeing specialized PPE and controls for rotating machinery hazards
