We are seeking to appoint a full-time Workshop Fitter to complement our experienced Workshop based in Minto. Working Monday to Friday with overtime and weekends, this role is offering a competitive hourly Rate plus penalties and superannuation.

This position will report to the Fixed Plant Manager, where you will be undertaking maintenance and repairs to Asphalt Plants and site infrastructure and road building equipment in our central modern workshop. Supported by a close-knit team environment, you will be enabled to work to your strengths within a diverse range of equipment servicing requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Major and minor servicing of plant and equipment;
  • Repairs and fault-finding hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems;
  • Modifying and upgrading systems to meet safety and ergonomic requirements;
  • Rebuilding of components testing and commissioning on installation.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following attributes;

  • Experience servicing and repairing range of Asphalt plants, mobile and heavy diesel plant (trucks, earthmoving and asphalt equipment such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, shuttle buggies, excavators and loaders)
  • Strong plant and diesel servicing and diagnostic skills, including hydraulics and electrical systems
  • Ability to complete all required service/repair documentation accurately, including time allocation to jobs
  • Proactive approach to scheduling and carrying out plant maintenance
  • Well-organised work practices and procedures
  • Valid driver’s licence with relevant heavy vehicle tickets (e.g. HR/HC); forklift licence highly regarded
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to safety
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours, including callouts and weekends as required

Skills Required
