About The Role
We are looking for an action-oriented and adaptable Workplace Operations Manager to make our real estate, people, accounting, and IT operations run effectively and support the company in delivering impactful climate solutions to the market. You will collaborate with our Finance, Engineering, Deployments, and Leadership teams to solve near-term problems and develop processes for the long term. This role is excellent for someone eager to own a broad scope and help build an early-stage company. This is an in-person role at our Oakland headquarters, and there will be many opportunities to specialize over time as the company scales.
The salary range for this full-time position is $85,000 - $115,000, plus stock options and benefits. Pay within the range is based on candidate experience, job-specific skills, education, and work location. The target experience for the position is 2 - 10+ years.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the point person for general office requests and inquiries
- Manage real estate operations, office resources, and IT, including keeping office and kitchen supplies stocked and supporting daily lunch deliveries
- Support logistics planning and preparation for R&D and project field deployments, such as travel and transportation arrangements
- Coordinating and receiving shipments and deliveries
- Manage purchase orders, accounts payable, and monthly credit card reconciliations
- Source and manage vendors and contractors to ensure smooth operations of on-site facilities, including the office, R&D shop, warehouse space, and field test sites
- Coordinate and administer employee onboarding, training, and workplace compliance
- Support recruitment and hiring, such as initial resume reviews and coordinating interview schedules and travel arrangements for candidates
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and improve and train on emergency preparedness
- Plan and organize company events (e.g., offsites, meet-ups) and branded gifts to promote a unified employee experience
- Implement and promote sustainable and environmentally friendly practices within the workplace, such as energy efficiency and waste reduction
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in getting things done efficiently and swiftly
- Possess a positive, can-do attitude; self-starter who finds and fixes problems
- Experience owning and implementing multiple and cross-functional projects, preferably within a high-growth business environment
- A track record of organization, attention to detail, and project management
- Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly in writing, in person, and on the phone
- Adept with spreadsheets and software such as Google Suite, Confluence, JIRA (or other ticketing or project management systems), and purchasing software
- Able to operate a forklift, or willing to be trained
- Passionate about building and scaling workplace programs from the ground up
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred
- Experience with Quickbooks or NetSuite
- Experience working at a workplace that includes industrial facilities or machine shop
