MatX is hiring for an experienced Office Manager. You will own office management, from furniture and package delivery to building and maintaining a welcoming, functional space for day-to-day work. You’ll partner with IT/Security to act as the office safety warden, ensuring that all training, drills and response to actual emergencies are handled safely. You will partner with the Executive Assistant and People Team to plan and execute internal and external events aimed at reinforcing our company culture and onboard new employees. This role is onsite, 5 days a week, at our office in Mountain View, CA.
What You’ll Do Here
- Own office management for our building. Includes: office furniture and decor selection and maintenance, food and beverage management (including vendor management), technical support alongside IT resources, building access management, etc.
- Partner with People Ops to onboard new employees, including: setting up equipment and desk space, welcoming new employees to the office, giving office tours and providing general support as the employee settles in.
- Partner with the Finance manager to handle expenses related to office operations.
- Work with People, Talent and EA to ensure guests are checked in when arriving and departing the building.
- Act as the point of contact for our landlord and property management to address any operational issues with the building. You’ll partner with IT/Security to act as the office safety warden, ensuring that all training, drills and response to actual emergencies are handled safely.
- Provide on-call support during off-hours should an emergency arise at the building.
- Coordinate and execute on company events, alongside the People team and EA.
- Additional responsibilities that will come up on an ad-hoc basis.
Who You Are
- 2+ years of experience as Office Manager or related role
- Genuine interest and mindset toward supporting team-members as your 'customer'
- Engaged with both the business and team members, and able to balance competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Proactive problem-solver who has a bias for action

- Compensation - $100,000 - 130,000 + equity. The US base salary for this full-time position is determined based on a variety of factors, including role, experience, location, job-related skills, and relevant education and training. Career length is only a guideline for compensation.
