The Role

This position leads a team of workforce planning professionals focused on analyzing, evaluating and making recommendations relative to payroll budgets, staffing levels, schedule adherence, work volume and overall workforce management system performance to ensure excellent customer service and operational goals are met. The position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the team and review, analyze and make recommendations related to implementation by the application vendor during routine software updates/releases. The Supervisor will also analyze various workforce management data points for accuracy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Works closely with management to prioritize and assign tasks to ensure the team’s resources are used effectively and workforce planning goals, objectives and tasks are completed on time.
  • Prioritize team member development and training needs being met.
  • Engage in team member feedback, performance evaluations, goals and achievements processes.
  • Ensure team member compliance with company policies, procedures and information security.
  • Work directly with management to assist with team member hiring, mentoring, discipline and scheduling.
  • Supervise team tasks to ensure the quality, accuracy.
  • Lead the team, supervising and assisting with the following team tasks:
    • Analyze data and make recommendations regarding budgets, forecasts, and schedules to ensure excellent customer service and profitability goals are met.
    • Perform complex ad-hoc what-if analysis to identify trends, patterns and opportunities within the scope of workforce planning.
    • Periodically analyze key metrics imported from systems of record into the workforce management system (i.e. store operating hours, store type, adjustment drivers, goals, etc.).
    • Collaborate with field management on event analysis, planning, exclusions and special circumstances that impact forecasting and scheduling. This will include analyzing and maintaining ongoing adjustments/exceptions in the workforce management system.
    • Set up system configuration, user acceptance testing and support user adoption.
    • Collaborate with development teams, project managers, and other internal and external teams to implement and test changes to the workforce management system.
    • Work with IT teams to ensure team member profiles, data views, reports and access levels are configured correctly, including user acceptance testing.
    • Provide support for analyzing and responding to JIRA tickets and various reported issues related to the scheduling and timekeeping system.
    • Review, analyze, and make recommendations related to the implementation by the application vendor during routine software updates/releases.
    • Provide reporting from the workforce management system to support multiple departments within the company.
    • Support key areas of workforce management, including budgeting, forecasting and scheduled hours allocation.
    • Provide phone support to stores and other departments regarding budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling.
  • Participate in additional training as necessary and apply it as it relates to workforce planning

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to mentor and lead a team of workforce planning professionals
  • Must possess a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Excellent documentation, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to think critically and analyze data, identify trends and patterns, and report on findings with recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to learn independently and problem solve

Desired:

  • B.S. degree in Business
  • CBAP Certification – (Certified Business Analyst Professional)
  • CCBA Certification – (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis)
  • 2 years’ experience in Automotive Aftermarket with a general understanding of programming standards, procedures and processes
  • 2 years of management experience in an applicable field
  • Knowledge of database structures, computer flow charts, program logic and code
  • Previous experience in workforce management/planning and BI reporting tools
  • Advanced knowledge in using SQL to perform queries and build comparisons
  • Advanced education and demonstrated experience in Project Management
