Overview:

Workday Technology Analyst

The Workday Technology Analyst partners with HR and business stakeholders to address complex processes and system needs across the employee lifecycle. This role leads discovery efforts, designs and configures solutions, resolves escalated issues, supports releases and testing activities, and collaborates with the Reporting team to develop reports and analytics that strengthen decision-making and enhance the end-user experience.

Success in this role requires balancing strategic problem-solving with hands-on execution to ensure Workday capabilities align with operational priorities, compliance requirements, and long-term People Systems objectives.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday HCM solutions across Core HCM and related functional areas, including Recruiting, Talent Management, Benefits, Compensation, Performance, and Payroll.

  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable system designs that improve process efficiency, usability, and compliance.

  • Provide advanced production support by troubleshooting and resolving complex Workday issues with a strong customer-service orientation and timely follow-through.

  • Maintain and optimize Workday configurations, data flows, reports, and related processes to support operational stability and evolving business needs.

  • Develop and maintain clear documentation for requirements, solution designs, testing outcomes, and end-to-end business processes.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to simplify processes, enhance the end-user experience, and increase adoption of Workday capabilities.

  • Support releases, upgrades, patches, testing, and stabilization activities to ensure quality and minimize business disruption.

  • Execute and validate mass data transactions using EIBs and related tools to ensure data accuracy and audit readiness.

  • Support day-to-day operations, including Workday Case Management and Tier 2/Tier 3 issue resolution, while strengthening support processes and escalation management.

  • Support and troubleshoot integrations with HR, benefits, payroll, and third-party vendor systems.

  • Contribute to planning activities by assessing complexity, dependencies, risks, and business impact across enhancements and initiatives.

  • Apply sound practices related to security, data privacy, audit readiness, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and optimize system performance.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree preferred

Certification:

Workday Pro Certification in HCM strongly preferred

Experience

Required Qualifications
•    3–5 years of Workday HCM experience supporting complex HR systems, preferably in a healthcare or large enterprise environment.
•    Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, and enhancing Workday across Core HCM and at least one additional functional area, such as Recruiting, Talent, Benefits, Compensation, or Payroll.
•    Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and translate them into effective system design and configuration.
•    Experience supporting initiatives through design, build, testing, implementation, stabilization, and post-production support.
•    Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, with experience resolving complex production issues and driving sustainable improvements.
•    Working knowledge of Workday EIBs and data loading.  
•    Solid understanding of HR processes, data structures, and the downstream impact of configuration decisions.
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
•    Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management, prioritization, and documentation skills.
•    Demonstrated initiative, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and commitment to strong results.
•    Collaborative, customer-focused approach and the ability to partner effectively across technical and functional teams.
•    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including xLOOKUP, formulas, and macros.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience in healthcare, large enterprises, or other complex operating environments.
•    Experience contributing to solution architecture, low-level design, or technical leadership for HR systems initiatives.
•    Knowledge of security, audit, risk, privacy, and compliance requirements for HR technology platforms.
•    Workday certification in one or more areas such as HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Performance, Payroll, Security, Extend, or Prism.
•    Experience establishing support standards, documentation practices, and repeatable processes.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is:$106,080.00-$176,820.80. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
