ABOUT THE JOB
The Workday Talent Solutions Specialist serves as Marathon Health's functional subject-matter expert for the Workday Talent suite, ensuring that talent processes are configured, optimized, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
This role combines Workday Talent expertise with business process design, analytics, and continuous improvement to deliver an exceptional experience for leaders and teammates. The specialist is responsible for configuring, administering, optimizing, and continuously enhancing Workday Talent modules, including Performance, Goals, Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, and future Talent capabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Workday Talent System Administration & Configuration
- Serve as the functional subject matter expert for Workday Talent modules.
- Configure, test, implement, and maintain Workday Talent functionality, including Performance, Goals, Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, and future Talent capabilities.
- Configure business processes, notifications, security impacts, validations, and system functionality aligned with organizational requirements.
- Continuously optimize Workday Talent functionality to improve user experience, efficiency, reporting, and adoption.
- Maintain functional documentation for talent system configurations, business processes, and change history.
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide functional support for Workday Talent processes.
Workday Release Management
- Review Workday feature releases and evaluate impacts to Talent functionality.
- Recommend adoption of new Workday capabilities that improve business processes and user experience.
- Develop and execute testing strategies for Workday updates, enhancements, and new functionality.
Talent Program Enablement
- Enable enterprise talent programs through Workday configuration, automation, workflows, reporting, and system design.
- Support annual and ongoing Performance, goal setting, development, talent reviews, and succession activities.
- Collaborate with HRIS on security, business process design, integrations, and system enhancements impacting Talent.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop reporting solutions that provide leaders and stakeholders with meaningful workforce insights (i.e., talent reports, dashboards).
- Monitor data quality and proactively identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
AI Enablement:
- Leverage AI capabilities within Workday and approved enterprise technologies to improve productivity, reporting, documentation, and user experience.
- Stay current on emerging HR technology, AI capabilities, and Workday innovation to recommend future enhancements.
Content
- Develop and maintain job aids, system documentation, process guides, and knowledge resources.
- Maintain SharePoint or other knowledge repositories to ensure resources remain current and accessible.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve Talent processes through Workday functionality.
- Evaluate current processes and recommend technology-enabled improvements that increase efficiency and scalability.
- Contribute to long-term Workday Talent roadmap planning and system optimization.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity, governance, and operational excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field and a minimum of four years of hands-on experience configuring and administering Workday Talent modules or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience implementing, configuring, and optimizing Workday Talent functionality, not solely end-user support.
- Experience supporting Workday business process configuration and testing.
- Current Workday Talent Certification is highly preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Copilot. Additional AI tools and AI agent experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $102,000/yr
