We are looking for an Adaptive Planning Project Manager who wants the experience of working for a small company but has the ambition to be a driver for success.

As an Adaptive Planning Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for successful Adaptive Planning implementations with Workday customers. You will act as the face of the project, tasked with successfully leading Adaptive Planning implementations from beginning to end with our customers. You'll communicate and address any budget or resourcing constraints, while keeping in mind our customer's satisfaction, and the project's success and profitability. This individual is a strong leader, manager, and mentor, and thrives on customer, company, and team accomplishment.

You will be directly responsible for overseeing all stages of the Adaptive Insights project and project delivery. The responsibilities include assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities and enforcing accountability, developing, and maintaining a budget and schedule to ensure timely completion of project, maintaining standard project management documentation and metrics with limited direction, working directly with internal and external client counterparts, other project leads, and ongoing operations to deliver successful implementation, and managing the scope of the project. The Workday Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for promoting team engagement and building and maintaining a successful relationship with the client.

You are expected to:

  • Become an expert in Kainos’ Adaptive Planning Implementation Methodology and leverage it on all engagements.
  • Become certified in Workday Project Management.
  • Become certified in Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Manage the implementation of up to 12 simultaneous projects.
  • Demonstrate competency in Adaptive Planning, and some knowledge of the Workday product suite - HCM, Payroll, and/or Financials.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to the Professional Service consultants working on your implementations.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed.
  • Track issues and risks, communicate status, and escalate concerns appropriately, while working with the client project manager to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes.
  • Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW.
  • Present client with change orders in the event they're asking Kainos to perform tasks that are outside the scope of the SOW.
  • Work with Workday Delivery Assurance to ensure compliance with agreed to checkpoints.
  • Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings.
  • Ensure the client takes advantage of Adaptive Planning best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to position other service offerings.
  • Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing their implementation and identify opportunities to position other service offerings.
  • Assist in the transition of the customer from professional services to post-go-live support.
  • Participate in the sales cycle when requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach, and develop a proposal/SOW.

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • Organizational and Project Management Expertise:
    • Prepares plans and manages initiatives with customers. 
    • Effectively prioritizes activities and requests to maintain high degree of confidence with customers. 
    • Follows through on requests in a timely manner.
    • Knows how and when to leverage other experts to manage customer needs/requests. 
    • Customer communications and follow ups from meetings are effective and efficient. 
    • Provides proactive updates on forecast, customer status and escalations.
    • Effective organizational skills and proven ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to work independently.
  • Financial Planning Expertise:
    • Experience may be within business operations, financial planning, or as an external consultant within these domains
    • Understands customer’s business operations; Understands/responds to the competition’s strengths and weaknesses
    • Leverages basic Financial Planning domain knowledge to facilitate planning sessions that drive interest in expanding Adaptive
    • Has knowledge of other customer success stories (to establish connections)
  • Communication Skills:
    •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in a remote working situation; sound ability to formally present to customer audiences. 
    • Presents thoughts clearly and concisely; effective follow up emails and communications.
    • Ability to handle and resolve conflict amongst all involved parties.
    • Able to present to senior management. 
    • Effectively rally and gain support of other resources
  • Consulting Skills: 
    • Strong consulting skills, e.g., presenting, demonstrating, and explaining complex functionality, internally or with customers.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a project team. 
    • Demonstrates effective and active listening skills. 
    • Has the ability to absorb various inputs from customers, and decipher underlying comments that are not being expressed, to effectively understand customer's planning requirements.
    • Ability to develop a solution and to clearly articulate assessment and recommendations to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Other:
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business 
    • Ability to travel up to 25%-45% at client request or Kainos request.

Desirable:

  • Previous Workday or Adaptive Planning experience
  • Implementations for medium or large enterprise organizations with a Workday partner
  • Adaptive Planning certification
  • Workday Project Management certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant
