About the role:

Skydio is seeking an enthusiastic Wireless System Test Engineer to help validate the next generation of Skydio products. Skydio builds innovative flying platforms and Software to control them. This role will be focused on working with all products that Skydio has to offer. As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for working cross functionally with various teams and spearheading both software and hardware validation specific to Skydio Connectivity and Performance.


How you'll make an impact:

  • Take lead in ensuring Skydio wireless systems meet design requirements and specifications
  • Develop and lead wireless chamber regression & smoke testing, developing automation to support this effort as needed
  • Creating wireless test plans and test cases based on product requirements specifications
  • Work closely with Wireless engineering teams to support automation testing, debug and identify automation issues, and continue to automate new wireless test cases

What makes you a good fit:

  • Comprehension of essential performance metrics and the degradation of RF and Baseband signals
  • Knowledge in wireless communication systems including WiFi and Cellular Technologies
  • Experience testing wireless systems in a chamber test environment
  • Experience using and understanding wireless lab equipment: signal analyzer, signal generator, spectrum analyzer
  • Experience with Python, Shell scripting, and/or C/C++/C#
  • Experience developing test automation including automation scripts
  • Experience with automation infrastructure development and related tools (GIT, CI/CD,database, reporting tools)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of options, comprehensive benefits, and various incentives and stipends. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - 146,000*. Fundamentally, we believe that equity is the key to long-term financial growth, and we ensure all full-time employees have the opportunity to significantly benefit from the company’s success.
