Position Overview

This position will perform daily wire transfer functions in a centralized processing environment. The Wire Operations Specialist is responsible for performing operational support duties of the Wire Department. Assists the Wire Operations Manager as directed, creates, verifies, issues and receives wire transfers for processing, monitors the status of wire transfers, monitor for suspicious or fraudulent issues in accordance with state and federal regulations. Performs a variety of routine daily tasks, reviews reports, prepares correspondence, and participates in special department projects.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform daily wire transfer functions in a centralized processing environment
  • USD Wire input and wire queues processing
  • Wire Email - branch/department wire confirmations
  • Provide support to internal departments via telephone and email
  • Provide support to external clients in regard to wire processing
  • Research and wire maintenance
  • Daily wire log balancing and reconciliation
  • Daily opening or closing of the Wire System
  • Filing and Archiving
  • Accurately follow various policy and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

Qualifications

  • One year of minimum banking experience or comparable
  • Ability to participate on disaster recovery team as needed
  • The ability to process work accurately and timely to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and be a team player
  • Intermediate PC skills including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook, data entry and 10 Key by touch, minimum typing speed 35-40 wpm (typing certificate required)
  • The ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is in regular communication, is required to use various tools or objects, and have the mobility to move about the office. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime may be necessary as job duties demand.
