Job Description

Following Contract award and FID, the Engineering Lead supports the WHP Package Manager in the delivery of the EPCC contract from award to operations, with accountability for engineering governance, technical quality, and design integrity of the WHP package. The role ensures timely and compliant engineering deliverables in support of procurement, fabrication, installation, and HUC, including technical support to vendor selection, TBE, and PO placement. The objective is to enable right-first-time execution, minimize rework and late changes, and support safe delivery within the approved schedule, up to start-up and operations no later than Q4 2028.

ACTIVITIES
Pre FID activities

Support the WHP Package Manager during the EPC and LLI Calls for Tender by leading technical preparation and engineering inputs, including review of FEED deliverables, technical specifications, data sheets, and engineering scope definitions up to RTA.

Ensure engineering readiness and maturity of the WHP package at RTA, including resolution of key technical risks, constructability considerations, and alignment of engineering assumptions with the Project schedule and execution strategy.

Provide engineering input to the development of proforma EPC and LLI contracts, ensuring technical scopes, specifications, interfaces, and engineering responsibilities are clearly defined and consistent.

Support identification and definition of engineering support contracts required for execution (e.g. specialist CSP installation engineering, design verification, technical assistance), and contribute to related CFT documentation.

Support preparation for the EPC execution phase by contributing to:
o
definition of the engineering organization and discipline resource needs,o
identification of engineering deliverables required to support early procurement and construction, and
o
mobilisation planning for engineering support to Contractor locations as required.

Support the IMA Project Management team in achieving overall Project FID, by ensuring the WHP engineering scope is technically robust, executable, and aligned with cost, schedule, and H3SE objectives.
Post FID activities
H3SE & compliance:

Lead by example by demonstrating exemplary H3SE behavior within the engineering function and ensuring full implementation of H3SE requirements across all engineering activities.

Ensure engineering deliverables, reviews, and decisions are conducted in compliance with Company Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Anti-Corruption policies.

Promote a strong safety-by-design culture, ensuring H3SE risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated through engineering solutions and design choices.
Engineering Management & Delivery

Lead and coordinate all engineering activities for the WHP package, ensuring technical quality, compliance with Company standards, and alignment with contractual and execution requirements.

Manage engineering resources within project constraints, including structuring the engineering organization, mobilizing specialist support, and adjusting resources to meet delivery priorities.

Ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs to support procurement, fabrication, installation, and HUC, including resolution of technical queries and deviations.
Engineering Performance Monitoring

Monitor engineering progress and deliverable maturity, identifying risks or deviations that may impact cost, schedule, or constructability, and proactively proposing corrective actions.

Provide timely and accurate engineering status reporting to the Package Manager, highlighting critical issues, risks, and required decisions.
Contractor Engineering Oversight

Monitor and control Contractor engineering performance, ensuring compliance with contractual technical requirements, Company specifications, QA standards, and approved procedures.

Participate, as COMPANY engineering representative, in engineering and technical meetings with Contractors as defined in the contract.
Interface & Stakeholder Support

Support proper handling of engineering interfaces with Drilling, SURF, Brownfield, Onshore Pipeline, and Operations, ensuring technical consistency and avoidance of late design changes.

Support Project Management, as required, in technical engagements with Partners and Authorities, workshops, and technical committees.

Skills Required

  • 10 years experience in project and project management
  • Proven experience leading engineering for EPC/EPCC packages (tender, FEED review, RTA to execution)
  • Experience with engineering governance, technical quality assurance, and design integrity for offshore WHP packages
  • Demonstrated H3SE leadership and safety-by-design implementation in engineering
  • Contractor engineering oversight and ability to manage contractor technical performance and QA compliance
  • Experience managing interfaces with Drilling, SURF, Brownfield, Onshore Pipeline, and Operations
