Job DescriptionWe are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Ignitis. Our team is at the forefront of the energy market, handling a diverse range of responsibilities including Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) origination, managing electricity, guarantees of origin, and gas market access, conducting market analytics, and developing price forward curves. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
- Executing trades in electricity, guarantees of origin (GOs) and other commodities on exchanges and over-the-counter (OTC) in line with the company’s strategy
- Calculating, reporting and presenting trading results to internal stakeholders
- Communicating with trading partners, potential clients and other stakeholders on market and trading matters
- Managing contracts with exchanges and trading partners, including onboarding and ongoing contractual updates
- Determining and managing portfolio positions, identifying trading needs and developing pricing and trading strategies in cooperation with colleagues from other units
- Analysing factors affecting electricity, GO and related commodity markets
- Improving and further developing trading portfolio management processes, models and tools
- Reporting closed deals in accordance with EMIR and REMIT requirements
- University degree in energy, finance, economics, statistics, applied mathematics or a closely related field
- At least 2+ years of proven experience in the electricity market, power trading or related fields
- Strong skills in MS Excel
- Knowledge of econometrics, data analytics or statistical analysis
- Basic understanding of commodity derivatives
- Proactive, accurate and responsible, with strong attention to detail and numbers
- Highly motivated and responsible, eager to learn and gain new experience
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
Would be an advantage:
- Work experience in the energy sector
- Knowledge of VBA
- Programming skills in R and/or Python and/or SQL
- Knowledge of financial markets
- Trading experience in electricity, other commodities, equity or foreign exchange markets
- Knowledge of EMIR and REMIT regulatory standards
