Job Purpose:
- The Wholesale Sales position at Ray Wiegand's Nursery Inc. is designed to facilitate the efficient preparation and delivery of orders, manage the operation of heavy machinery, and assist in the selection and care of nursery stock. This role is critical in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the high standards of our nursery operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare orders for customer pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Operate heavy machinery including Skid Steers, Forklifts, and Tractors safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with contractors to select and load plant material and hard goods, ensuring quality and suitability for customer needs.
- Assist with plant identification, watering, and care of all Nursery Stock to maintain healthy and vibrant inventory.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and offering knowledgeable advice on plant care and selection.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in wholesale sales, preferably in the nursery or agricultural industry.
- Proven experience in operating heavy machinery such as skid steers, forklifts, and tractors.
- Experience in working with contractors to select and load plant material and hard goods.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of plant identification, care, and watering techniques.
- Ability to prepare orders efficiently for customer pick-ups and deliveries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with contractors and customers.
- Proficiency in operating heavy machinery safely and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing nursery stock.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
