WGL - Operations Support Specialist III
Position Summary
Responsible for supporting the Operations areas to ensure consistent administration of workforce management is obtained. Accountable Responsible for the development of business plans and budgets, implementation and continuous improvement of special projects and providing general support to the assigned business unit.
You Will:
• Assists in the preparation and monitoring of critical data related to Business Unit goals and objectives, operating metrics, and management operating systems.
• Serves as the liaison to Financial Metrics area in retrieving and producing data used in departmental business planning and reporting variances for monthly expenditures from PeopleSoft.
• Perform invoice management, file management of all requisitions, monitor expenses, reconciliation, working with staff to review and process expenses in pcard and EPRO and process invoices. Collaborates with finance teams to ensure invoices are properly managed to reduce and eliminate late payments and penalties.
• Assists in the preparation of yearly Business Plans, and Capital and O & M budgets.
• Develops, analyzes, implements systems, and prepares reports and presentations to complete projects on time and on budget.
• Provides support to the Business Unit (contractor services, major office supplies, training/travel, IT hardware/software requests, IDP's, Goals, and department and company policies).
• Responsible for developing, tracking, and reporting Strategic and Operating initiatives (business plans).
• Responsible for working with internal customers from various business units to enhance quality, processes, and information transfer in key result areas.
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of the units Intranet.
• Develops, evaluates, and provides analysis of short and long range staffing plans.
• Maintains the unit’s temporary transfer/promotional rosters and recommends and identifies training needs to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained.
• Manage communications and correspondence to include multiple emails, phone calls, and written communication. Drafting communications, and administrative standard operating procedures, distributing memos, letters, and reports. Preparing and packaging document up for signature using various software packages for executive level signatures.
You Have:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
4 years of of relevant experience required. Bachelors Degree will substitute for experience
• Experience in utilizing computer technology and company record-tracking systems and databases preferred
• Working knowledge of PeopleSoft financial tables and query tools.
• Working knowledge of Operations procedures and practices and a general knowledge of utility operations required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse groups with mutual project goals to successful completion of stated objectives.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a wide audience in a concise manner.
• Ability to proficiently operate computer software and hardware for data manipulation, analysis and presentation purposes.
• Ability to design and create queries and reports in PeopleSoft.
• Proficient use of MS Excel and Word. Ability to logically analyze and solve narrowly defined business problems.
We offer a competitive salary range of $70,500 to $97,125 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
