WGL - Associate Gas Controller
Position Summary
Assists in the operation and monitoring of the Washington Gas transmission and distributions systems in a safe and reliable manner. This job requires working on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
You Will
• Assist higher-level Gas Controllers with:
• Acquiring and monitoring weather data for gas load forecasting;
• Developing and executing delivery profile to meet customer demand and main
taining system safety;
• Monitoring and recording critical system operating parameters and initiating
corrective action when necessary;
• Monitoring and/or controlling critical processes at peak shaving facilities;
• Monitoring and recording system pressures, station odorization levels and
Gate Station performance
• Verifying requested deliveries of gas volumes from Asset Management for ac
curacy and contract compliance;
• Verifying Interruptible and Delivery Service customer gas volumes, status and
compliance;
• Validating station meter volumes and calculating daily estimates of flow;
• Monitoring hexane injections for quality of gas;
• Supports Gas Supply Operations field personnel as required;
You Must Have
• High School Diploma/GED with strong emphasis in mathematics and
Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated knowledge of Washington Gas system geography.
• Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft
Office, for data management, research, analysis and reporting purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with natural gas transmission and/or distribution operations
• Experience in Washington Gas Supply Operations (Plants & Storage
Operations, Gate Station Operations, and/or Pressure Operations)
We offer a competitive salary range of $63,000 to $86,250 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
