We are looking for a driven and well-organised Business Manager to support the Western Europe franchise. The role is part of the Markets Europe Business Execution organization and is responsible for managing the daily operations to ensure the business can operate safely and keeps its license to trade as well as supporting the business strategy growth initiatives.
The successful candidate will be based in Paris and report to the Head of Business Management for Markets Europe. Depending on the candidate’s profile, they may be given the opportunity to manage and support one or several countries within Western Europe.
What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:
- Provide leadership and promote business ties with senior leaders across key businesses, regions, and support functions
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Represent the Markets Business in forums / committees as required
- Address operational queries from and to desks and act as point of contact for local functional partners (Compliance, Legal, Operations, Finance, etc)
- Manage local governance: Desk level (incl. Day to day supervision, procedures, etc.), Markets (incl. Monthly /Quarterly business reviews, Risk and Control forums); Country (eg CCC)
- Drive change management, including business and regulatory initiatives.
- Platform Management, including financials monitoring, planning, technology stack, continuity of business, etc
- Establish and govern Risk and Controls across the business
- Manage local Internal Audits and drive implementation of related Issues/Corrective Action Plans
- Execute local controls and investigate op risk event
What we will need from you:
- This is not an entry level role, so you will need to have relevant experience in a business management or front office support role
- This is an individual contributor role but stakeholder relationship is key
- Ability to speak of the following European language is preferred: Italian, Spanish, French
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and processes
- Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Proven strategic planning and presentation skills
- Consistently develop and maintain effective work relationships
- Proven ability to conduct research/analysis and organize findings
- Fluent in English
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
