About You:

Join the LIV Wellbeing Team and play a key role in implementing an evidence-based Wellbeing Strategy that supports prevention, early intervention and sustained improvement across the legal profession. This position is responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating initiatives that promote mental health, mitigate psychosocial risks and increase the capability of individuals, organisations and the broader profession.

As a registered psychologist, you will apply your expertise to workplace mental health, with a focus on practical, proactive approaches. You will support the implementation of the LIV Wellbeing Operational Plan by developing workshops, seminars and resources; providing specialist advice on psychosocial hazards; and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen psychologically healthy work environments.

You will focus on contemporary risks facing the legal profession, such as vicarious trauma, burnout, moral injury and occupational stress. Your work will help develop trauma-informed practices, support prevention and early identification, and assist organisations to adopt evidence-informed responses.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and deliver engaging psychoeducational workshops, information sessions, webinars and resources informed by current psychological evidence.
  • Translate complex psychological science into practical, accessible strategies for professional audiences.
  • Support evaluation and continuous improvement of wellbeing programs and initiatives
  • Support the LIV Wellbeing Team in delivering a broad range of wellbeing services to LIV members and the legal sector more broadly, including scheduled programs, member-facing initiatives and responsive support.
  • Provide specialist psychological advice to external and internal stakeholders on matters relating to mental health, trauma, psychosocial hazards, wellbeing and psychological safety.
  • Contribute to organisational policy, submissions, resources and strategic initiatives from a clinical psychology perspective.
  • Provide specialist knowledge regarding trauma-informed practice, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, burnout and recovery.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: 

  • Ability to initiate, build and maintain collaborative relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Essential:

  • General registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Minimum five years' post-registration experience

Highly desirable:

  • Clinical Psychology endorsement with AHPRA
  • Minimum five years' post-endorsement clinical experience
  • Background in trauma training (higher education studies, or specialist training and certification)
