Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Weight Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pistoia

Accountabilities
- Integration on the Weight Management team in multi-company projects.
- Identification of the contractual and regulatory requirements relating to weight management and relevant architectural layout of the vehicle.
- Research, handling and allocation of weight data of the vehicle subsystems.
- Performing the preliminary weight analysis identifying the preventive measures for the mitigation of weight excess and optimization of weight distribution.
- Managing of weight project documentation (periodical updating, Design Reviews, etc.)
- Developing weight benchmark based on research of available data.
Required Skills/ Knowledge
- Enthusiastic approach
- Technical degree required preferably in Mechanical, Aero-space;
- Knowledge of the main office automation software / tools (Word, Excel, etc.) is essential.
- Basic Knowledge of CAD tools, both 2D and 3D is required
Desired Skills/ Knowledge
- knowledge of railway vehicles is a preferential title.
- Intermediate knowledge of CAD tools (both 2D and 3D) is a preferential title.

Education / Qualifications
Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aero-space) is a preferential title
Languages
Knowledge of written and spoken English (at least B2 level)
