About the Role
Support the Website Strategy team by ensuring content on Elsevier.com is consistent, high-quality, and aligned with defined standards and audience journeys. This role focuses on monitoring the website, identifying issues, and ensuring pages follow governance rules while supporting clear, structured user pathways.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Web Governance Specialist who takes initiative to identify issues, maintain content quality, and ensure consistency across the site. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with structured processes, reviewing content in detail, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues and improve the overall user experience.
Responsibilities
Monitor Elsevier.com to ensure content follows defined journeys, governance standards, templates, and publishing guidelines.
Review pages to ensure correct structure, metadata, and alignment with content standards.
Identify non-compliant, outdated, or duplicate content and track required actions.
Ensure pages are correctly aligned to defined audience journeys and user tasks.
Identify gaps, overlaps, or fragmentation in content journeys and pathways.
Maintain documentation of content structures and audience pathways.
Support content lifecycle activities, including review, update, consolidation, and retirement.
Track and follow up on issues with stakeholders to ensure resolution.
Escalate recurring or unresolved issues through defined processes.
Provide guidance to content contributors on applying website standards and structuring content effectively.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 2+ years of experience working with website content, CMS platforms, or digital publishing workflows.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues in content structure and quality.
Understanding of digital content, website structure, and user experience principles.
Ability to analyse content and identify improvements to navigation and user pathways.
Comfortable working with structured processes and applying defined standards.
Strong organisational skills and ability to track issues through to resolution.
Clear communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
