The landscape of student housing is changing, and Scion is at the forefront. Our Website Developer Intern will be responsible in helping execute our vision. The Website Developer Intern is here to support Scion’s property website development to ensure accurate content and functionality.
This Website Developer Intern is tactical and calculated in their approach to website development. Critical thinking and excellent communication skills will be key in a fast-paced, agile, corporate environment where crucial decisions must be executed in real-time. This role consists of managing multiple projects with goals and deadlines that are expected to be met in a timely and consistent manner.
Scion’s internship program provides a unique opportunity for ambitious college students to learn, contribute, and gain real world work experience. Interns have the chance to learn more about Scion’s culture and business while developing practical skills necessary post-graduation. The 10-week program includes 1-on-1 guidance and timely feedback, development opportunities for soft skills and technical skills, spotlights on various functions outside of your team, mentorship relationships with company leaders and networking opportunities with colleagues. The program equips interns with an understanding of working in a professional environment dedicated to providing colleagues and communities with optimal support, expertise, and experience.
At the end of your internship, you will have obtained the following experience:
- An understanding of Scion’s business and how the Web Development function supports the business.
- Basic knowledge of Scion’s internal technology and systems (such as our home-grown proprietary business intelligence software).
- Experience presenting the identification of obstacles and solutions, implementation, and results to varying audiences.
- How to effectively work with others and development of interpersonal relationships.
- Networking and collaborating with peers, Scion colleagues and executive leadership.
Your Responsibilities
Website Experience
- Review, manage and execute copy and photo changes as needed.
- Coordinate with Brand Team, Sales and other departments to confirm content is correct.
- Schedule and perform weekly audits to ensure 3rd party connections are working correctly.
- Review weekly website performance reports and adjust website settings accordingly.
- Use developer tools in Chrome to make quick adjustments for testing before updating on live site.
- Assist Brand Team with updating Sharepoint Intranet site to provide new content to our property and corporate team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement A/B tests
- Support website redesign and rebuild projects by contributing to the planning, development, and implementation of new features and functionality.
- Research and analyze UX/UI best practices, trends, competitor designs and present findings to inform design decisions and enhance user experience.
Reporting
- Analyze website user behavior using software to determine if there are any inefficiencies that could be corrected.
- Review Google Analytics data to help determine trends and insights based on website traffic.
- Evaluate A/B test results to identify key performance indicators and determine the winning variations for continuous website optimization.
- Present findings with potential solutions to help with website retention and effectiveness.

What We Require
- A desire and eagerness to learn and grow.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate or master's program with coursework in business administration, marketing, advertising, sales or a related field.
- Experience with basic web development languages like HTML, JavaScript & CSS required.
- Must be willing to work full-time for the full 10-week term of the program, beginning June 9, 2025.
- Aptitude in developing proficient technology skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Experience with lead management systems, AI technologies, and communication management platforms for text and email messaging is preferred
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required. We do not offer sponsorship for this position.

Operational Details
- Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters where you will be exposed to on-the-fly learning opportunities;
- Full-time hours; 10-week program.
- Working hours are typically 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
