Job Description Summary 

This internship is designed to provide experience for a student interested in a wealth management career. 

 
LOCATION 

Tanner Building:

7167 S Center Park Drive
West Jordan, UT 84084

 

SCHEDULE 

Part-time; Flexible 

 

To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully. 

  • Assisting in operational support on client accounts (calls, paperwork, maintenance) 

  • Learning how to connect with members & branch employees 

  • Learning how to prospect to members of the credit union 

  • Learning the financial planning process 

  • Observing advisor-client appointments

EXPERIENCE 

  • Have a strong interest in pursuing a financial planning/wealth management career 

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask 

  • Have some knowledge of financial markets and macro-level economic trends 

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Highly inquisitive, focused and pro-active 

  • Good judgment and discretion when working with confidential information 

 

Education 

High school diploma or equivalent 

Currently attending an educational institution with an emphasis in 

Wealth Management, Business, Finance or Financial planning or related field 

 

Managerial Responsibility 

Has no supervisory/managerial responsibilities 

 

 

Language Skills 

Must have the ability to read, understand and carry out instructions in written and oral form. 

 

PHYSICAL ABILITIES / WORKING CONDITIONS 

Physical Demands 

Ability to talk, hear, sit, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms consistently. Ability to stand, walk, kneel and crouch occasionally 

 

 

Vision Requirements 

Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more) 

 

Weight Lifted or Force Exerted 

Ability to lift up to 10 pounds consistently and up to 50 pounds occasionally 

 

Environmental 

There are no unusual environmental factors 

 

Noise Environment 

Moderate noise (business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
