Summary:
The Advisor – Wealth Management (WM) will evaluate clients and prospects in terms of their financial needs, current portfolio holdings, available investment capital, and help retirement plan participants identify their investment and savings needs and objectives. The Advisor – WM will conduct educational meetings for participants of existing retirement plan clients as well as one-on-one meetings. The Advisor – WM will meet with clients and prospects via phone calls, conference calls, webinars, educational meetings, and face-to-face meetings for initial and on-going consultations. This position will need a complete overview of the client's or prospect’s situation, and then would advise them on financial courses of action and/or solutions that would best meet their financial needs and provide them with the best possible financial and retirement outcomes.
The Advisor – WM will build a book of business by harnessing the power of the OneDigital Retirement + Wealth brand while also focusing on retention. Lead generation comes from conducting individual and group educational meetings for retirement plan clients and through individual networking efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):
The Advisor – WM is responsible for searching out, exploring, and developing new business with an emphasis on new clients and/or prospect development. This position will need to prospect external referrals/contacts, network in the community, and be highly visible. This is a goal-oriented position with the need to open prospect accounts, sell comprehensive and competitive investment and financial planning services, and to foster solid relationships to provide a maximum value to both customers and to the R + W division. Additional responsibilities will center on appropriate reporting requirements; maintaining any continuing education requirements made necessary for compliance and certifications held; developing relationships with other professionals; and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Duties:

Effectively builds and manages productive relationships with clients, to include legacy clients from both retirement and wealth, through exceptional customer service

Drive business results by developing, managing and expanding client relationships through referrals and new business development activities

Develop leads through working with internal partners referrals, existing plan clients, networking and client referrals. Convert leads to retirement/wealth services clients
-
Employee will be prospecting for new retirement plan clients and servicing existing retirement plan clients (meeting with plan sponsors and investment committees)

Responsible for consulting on retirement plans, including trustee meetings, compliance, investment reviews, and fee benchmarking
-
Help plan participants, prospects, and clients by answering questions and providing advice and solutions to meet financial needs
-
Oversee opening new accounts, transferring accounts, maintaining appropriate account records, adhering to any compliance policies, and assisting the Retirement Services department with investment and educational services for its client base

Ability to explain to clients the functions of various securities markets and the principal factors that affect them; work closely with the Portfolio Management team to understand the investment philosophy and ensure clients are provided with the best investment solutions

Develop leads through cold calling, networking and client referrals; meet annual sales goals by advancing prospects through opportunity pipeline to close business

Service client needs and monitor client’s financial investments, deferrals, and overall financial picture including life, LTC, LTD, college planning, retirement planning, HSA, Roth and pretax deferrals, etc. with integrity and respect to the organization as a whole

Make recommendations consistent with changes in economics and the financial condition of the markets as well as the client’s needs and objectives

Access the strategic alliances to help in marketing efforts and retention of clients; work in conjunction with the service team on day-to-day service including investment review meetings and financial planning
Financial Consulting:

Participant Support – make calls to onboard new hires for companies

Lead Generation – cultivate relationships and opportunities via contact with plan participants and centers of influence

Close new business relating to revenue generation

Maintain on-going relationship with clients and provide ongoing support, services, and financial consulting services
Reporting:

Help implement data feeds from recordkeepers to create call list

Document conversations and lead generations via CRM system

Generate revenue related to sales activities

Comply with all compliance policies and procedures both at the firm and regulatory level
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:
-
High level of energy and drive, a self-starter, enthusiastic, and has the motivation to be highly successful in a relationship selling environment

Ability to sell, develop relationships (internally and externally), and commit to long-term professional development (lifelong learning and certifications)

Strong presentation and communication skills; ability to adjust communication style based on setting and audience

Full knowledge and understanding of department functions and interactions

Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing business, technology and regulatory environment
Education, Training and Experience:
-
College degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required
-
Graduate-level college degree (MBA, JD, etc.) is desirable
-
2+ years of industry experience required, 3-5 years of industry experience preferred
-
Requires conformity to legal and regulatory requirements and guidelines associated with FINRA, SEC, and OneDigital Retirement + Wealth compliance
-
FINRA, Series 6 and 63, and state life, accident, and health insurance licensing is preferred in addition to meeting all regulatory and compliance guidelines
-
Certifications such as CFP, CTFA, Series 7 preferred; willingness to complete the CFP is a plus

Knowledge of trust, investments, and other investment products
Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
