Why this role exists

Wave is our enterprise transformation platform, underpinning the way we plan, track, and report strategic change. As the Transformation Office continues to scale and mature, having robust data quality, user adoption, and rapid functional development within Wave is critical for the success of our strategic portfolio.
Wave Analysts serve as the technical and functional experts for the platform: they own data integrity, produce actionable insights, manage the development pipeline, deliver training, and act as the single point of contact for all Wave-related needs across the business. This role ensures Wave remains an accurate, trusted ‘single source of truth’ for decision‑makers while continuously improving functionality and user experience across programmes.

Key Responsibilities1. Wave Data Ownership & Integrity
  • Own the end-to-end data quality within Wave, ensuring all project, financial, benefit, and milestone data is accurate, complete, and compliant with governance standards.
  • Drive continuous improvements in data capture, structure, and reporting.
2. Reporting, Analytics & Insights
  • Build and maintain standardised reporting dashboards, export packs, and analytical views for programme leads, workstream owners, and governance forums.
  • Deliver ad-hoc data extracts and cross-portfolio analysis when requested by leadership or programme teams.
  • Identify data trends, gaps, or insights to improve decision-making.
3. Functional Development & Pipeline Ownership
  • Own and lead the prioritised pipeline of Wave enhancements, configurations, and functional development requests.
  • Work closely with Wave vendor/technical teams to scope requirements, test changes, and manage deployment cycles.
  • Ensure all updates follow change-control processes and are communicated effectively to stakeholders.
4. User Enablement, Training & Adoption
  • Design and deliver onboarding training, refresher sessions, step-by-step guides, and user manuals for all Wave users.
  • Run clinics and drop-in sessions to support ongoing adoption and capability-building.
  • Track user engagement metrics and propose interventions where adoption is low.
5. Point of Contact for All Wave Enquiries
  • Act as the primary subject-matter expert for everything related to Wave — triaging questions, troubleshooting issues, and escalating technical defects where required.
  • Maintain a clear support channel and SLA for business users.
6. Governance & Process Compliance
  • Ensure Wave is aligned to portfolio governance standards and reporting rhythms.
  • Support SteerCo/Portfolio Review/Quarterly Planning cycles with accurate Wave-derived reports.
  • Maintain change logs, development backlogs, testing documentation, and configuration histories.
7. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with programme managers, finance, strategy leads, and the wider Transformation Office to understand reporting needs and ensure Wave reflects the real operational environment.
  • Engage with external vendors or technical partners on development and platform maintenance.
Success Measures
  • Data Quality: >95% data completeness and accuracy across all Wave fields and modules.
  • Timeliness: All required reports delivered on time and in full for governance cycles.
  • Adoption: Increased user satisfaction and high utilisation of Wave for programme reporting.
  • Functional Progress: Delivery of a prioritised development backlog with clear impact on usability and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Feedback: Positive qualitative feedback from programme teams and senior leadership.
Skills & ExperienceMust-haves
  • 2–4 years’ experience in transformation, PMO, portfolio management, data analysis, or tooling administration.
  • Highly competent in data manipulation and analysis (Excel, Power BI or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in translating technical concepts for non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to challenge stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritise parallel workstreams.
  • Fluent English (C1 level); right to work in Portugal.
Nice-to-haves
  • Strong proficiency with Wave (or similar tooling: Workday Adaptive, Clarity, Planview, Jira Portfolio, Anaplan, etc.).
  • Prior exposure to platform configuration, backlog prioritisation, or user-support models.
  • Experience facilitating workshops.
  • Knowledge of project/portfolio methodologies (RAID, benefits tracking, delivery frameworks).
  • Familiarity with automation tools, scripting, or low-code configuration is a plus.
