As a Waste Chemicals Treatment Engineer, you will help shape the systems that safely manage and treat waste across large-scale manufacturing facilities. This role is central to ensuring environmental compliance, operational safety, and seamless integration with sophisticated process tools. You will act as the on-site technical authority, guiding design partners and collaborating closely with internal teams to deliver reliable, future-ready waste treatment solutions for major capital projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate third-party design firms delivering waste collection, conveyance, and treatment systems
- Review P&IDs, layouts, and equipment specifications for technical quality and code compliance
- Evaluate system performance, safety, chemical compatibility, and regulatory compliance
- Partner with internal teams and vendors to align designs with facility interfaces and schedules
- Support construction through design clarifications, markups, and RFI responses
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of experience designing wastewater, chemical, or solid waste treatment systems
- Understanding of industrial waste collection, treatment processes, and bulk chemical systems
- Familiarity with environmental regulations such as RCRA, Clean Water Act, SEMI S2, and local codes
- Experience reviewing engineering documents using AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating third-party designs for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or industrial facilities
- Knowledge of semiconductor tool installations and lateral design
- Experience with sustainable waste treatment approaches such as water reuse or zero-liquid discharge
- Ability to mentor teammates and collaborate effectively across fields
- Familiarity with PLC or SCADA control systems
